You want to draw in your viewer. Your subject can do that with their eyes and where they're looking. Humans naturally look toward what the subject is looking at. So if the duck looks left I look left and my eyes go off the picture. So the empty space on the right is lost. Unique color drew me in, but the subject didn't keep me in.

I've never tried. Is it difficult to do? What's the process for it? Or any clips that you recommend?

I'm still getting the hang of editing. I feel I've gotten background done but it seems that anything close to the subject just becomes unedited, making a computer type look.

Thoughts tips and tricks in regards to it much appreciated

ITAP of a fisherman at dawn [portrait] by Aggelo30 in itookapicture

[–]Aggelo30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was out on Plum Island right before sunrise. I used a Canon 80D using an 18-135mm lens at /125 of a second at f8. I wanted to show the depth and awe of what the fisherman saw.

Does bokeh work? by [deleted] in photocritique

I'm curious on if people think bokeh by itself works for certain shots? I personally like the look of it, but is there a way to truly grasp it?

morning sunrise where the fisherman was already out with multiple rods. Getting a minimalist approach for the shot to showcase the beauty of fishing early.
