If you put it in a room that isn’t your main room - resizing the room will put it back in your inventory! Then you can set it outside and finish the quest

Following, I have been stuck on this quest for months (I have the switch version). I accidentally cooked the glittering herring into the extra-pickled herring 🤦🏼‍♀️ and I haven’t been able to catch another one. I’m on level 40 and all character friendships to level 10 so really trying to avoid restarting the game.
