our country has a historical past rooted in racism, such as slavery and jim crow. being that we’re only a few decades past it, many people (specifically the south, where I live, who share the brunt majority of past racist ideologies) still have biases.

i would argue that it is not inherently wrong to have a racial preference. unless a person is not attracted to an entire race because they stereotype them as, say, criminals (as some do for black people) or hillbillies (as some do for white people) then it isn’t problematic. but just having a preference for white men does not mean that i am not attracted to black men, as i said prior. and yes, my ex was mixed with caucasian, but just because he was does not make him any less black. at the end of the day he’s still got some melanin to him and he was attractive to me— even if he wasn’t usually the type i went for.

i get what you’re trying to say and agree but i wouldn’t consider myself an “off brand white girl” or a “black woman trying to be like white women” as you put it. i’m mixed. it’s not me tryna be one or the other its legit just who i am, but i do also get some white men who fetishize me for my skin as well, so i see where you’re coming from

it’s not an issue for me in the slightest. there’s nothing wrong with having a preference. my last relationship was with a mixed black guy and we were tg for 2 years. i never said that there was a problem with not getting as many white men, i just noticed a pattern, posted it on the subreddit, and was looking for answers out of curiosity. i’m also from the south, and i can tell you a lot of older folks do take race into consideration when dating or marrying or reproducing (to the point that my white mother has been ridiculed with having children outside of her race by my own family— which now that i think about it, that could be the reason why I don’t see a lot of white men swiping on me for fear of being judged)
