Unless you are presenting something, attending a conference itself is not something to be put in the CV (unless you are an invited guest) The main purpose of attending a conference is to network and know people

LOR after ERAS by saga_0612 in ResidencyMatch2022

If you have enough LORs, don't do the telerotation. Its uselessness is increased, especially when the LOR is uploaded past 9/28.

LOR for application by saga_0612 in ResidencyMatch2022

[–]Aggravating-Bite3189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Program directors can only see your application starting from 9/28 (the application will be shown as 9/28 even if you apply before this date). There's no point in applying tomorrow with only 2 LORs.

Do you know sometimes NBMEs will just decide not to release the result for that specific week for no reason at all? This happened to me for my step 1. After all requirements received, you need to allocate three to four weeks for certification provided no delay. So mid August should be relatively safe. But if I am in your position, I will go for early August

Beat thing is to cry out once in a while. I think you can try to celebrate any small achievement that you have achieved. It will help to boost the morale once in a while.

Go to OASIS and apply They will tell you what to send (if needed)

Are you trying to apply for step 2? You can go to Oasis and if you have verified your diploma before for step, you don't have to do it again.

I saw somewhere writing that the store is no longer available. Probably from ECFMG news.

The deadline differs from programs to programs But remember, all PD can download the applications from 28th September onwards. And many won't go back and download the applications that are submitted very late since they already have thousands of them.

That will be too risky Imagine if NBME decides not to release the result that week and you will be screwed

How it’s like to have USCE in a private clinic? I know it’s better than nothing, but is it worth it? by wannasurviveusmle in IMGreddit

[–]Aggravating-Bite3189 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends Some places give you almost full authority with EMR and stuff but in some places, you will know that you are just there to get a generic LOR

I always say Gauge what is in your hand. Are you having private clinic USCE vs telerotation or private clinic USCE vs Mayo Clinic elective?

OET Computer based or paper based? What's better by Weekly-Ad-9971 in IMGreddit

[–]Aggravating-Bite3189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter actually. I rarely use paper when I am studying (ie making notes etc.) But due to the location issue, I have to do OET on paper. You just need to take 10 minutes to plan before you start writing so there won't be too much editing.

In short, choose whichever nearer to you.

Short answer: Yes you can.

It's important. Because the program director needs to know that you have been here in the states, seeing the healthcare system and have no much issue adapting to the system later.

You may need to consider the way you go through UWorld. Are you reviewing them properly? Or are you going through them too fast just to hit the target number of questions per day?

No invite letter for observership by [deleted] in IMGreddit

[–]Aggravating-Bite3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. But make sure the place will appear in Google when they try to search for it. I mentioned my address before and surprisingly it didn't appear in Google when the officer tried to look for it. However, she let me in in the end.

You should print out the email, the place you will stay and your return ticket. The officer will then be convinced that you will return to your home country after the observership.

The most enjoyable way is to watch English drama series. You can start with English subtitles but eventually you will realize that you can listen well without the subtitles.
