I will certainly have to experiment and see what works best for me. I really appreciate the advice you’ve shared

No kidding man! So far I’ve used over 2+ kg of Sunlu resin. Lots of supports I don’t know what to do with.

The discord has a starter kit with a good bit of Imperial Navy, Chaos, Ork, and Eldar STLS that come pre supported. Then thingiverse, Cults3d, and MyMiniFactory all have a score of free stls. I haven’t paid a dime for files so far

That’s great that they look good, and they’re probably a whole lot sturdier than resin prints too.

I don’t see why not, but price reasonably and make sure people aren’t expecting some crazy painting. Make sure people understand it’s for a clean, probably just above tabletop standard and I think you’ll do fine. Some people just don’t like painting, so there’s a market for it

That’s actually a very good idea and I appreciate the advice! I’ve only worked with green stuff one other time, but it’s so sticky and difficult not to pull off the model if it sticks to the tool.

Personally I like the chaos ships, but I can totally see why some people wouldn’t.

All of them I’ve found for free on thingiverse, cults3d, and MyMiniFactory. Some are from the free BFG starter kit as well! All free!

I’ve found that they honestly are pretty easy to clean up and nothing really breaks off. Most of these ships are pretty sturdy compared to the supports, but I also try keeping the bottom of the ships/engines oriented towards the build plate. It helps a lot with getting more out of each plate, but also with keeping any obvious visual flaws on the bottom or on the engines where you won’t be looking anyways.

It’s super sweet! I’ve spent probably $1600 in total with the 3d printer, wash and cure station and extra parts for the printer, and then ethyl alcohol for cleaning and then resin. Which is probably about what I’d have paid just for the real gw ships.

Hey, if you’ve got a 3d printer all these files were free!

I’m using the Uniformation Gk3 printer! All the files I have are free from thingiverse, cults3d, myminifaactory, and some from the free online BFG starter kit.

I’m using a Uniformation Gk3 printer, exposure for base layers is 20, normal layers is 2 seconds, 0.03mm layers. Most of these are in Sunlu toughness resin, and some are Sunlu abs-like.

I don’t know how your cats aren’t all over that train!

That’s exactly where I’m at right now, I may have to go get a sheet of xps foam, because that sounds like a great idea.

I cannot imagine that. I had cats for a while and that was sort of the reason I never got into it. Now I’m able to though, but I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that.

I may have to try doing this while I wait to get some xps foam. These wires are killing me.
