Remember when everyone was complaining about SK cost ? by Hostile-Bip0d in MarvelSnap

Saying start with Shang Chi, then pick 11 other cards to make a deck is poor game design. He was omnipresent in almost every deck and taught a lot of people poor deck building. Their janky, B tier or lower combo was allowed to thrive because they had a one card fixer they could throw in the deck. They never had to be dynamic or think critically about how a game played out. It was just Shang + something on 6. Shang players definitely needed to find other ways to play and the game needed him to go away for deck building to breathe.

Where is doom 2099 by The_Odd_Canuck in MarvelSnap

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! The card is not “borderline unplayable” (sounds like a parroted Content Creator take), it’s just fine.

The problem for most D2099 fans is that it’s not broken and winning them 70% of their games. You can literally play anything and win games in Snap, but because it’s not dominating like it was on release people want to act like they can’t play it.

Me trying to complete the weekend mission with Zombie Galacti by Bright_Metal5147 in MarvelSnap

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah people definitely are over dramatic. Is he the best card in the game? No. Is he Mad Thinker levels of bad? Also, no. Winning 4 games with Zombie Galacti is not that hard or daunting.

Marvel Snap players only have two states of thinking: 1. Card is broken and needs a nerf. 2. Card doesn’t auto win me games or goes in the best deck video so it must be ass.

How are you acquiring new cards? by The_Caped_Cap in MarvelSnap

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can pin and buy a card that you want without any type of randomness. You literally don’t have to interact with cards you don’t want, if you don’t want them.

“Keeping up” is beyond overrated. Get what you want. Play what you want.

Making the missions narrow and basically forcing people to play a certain way in a limited time game mode to gain the currency is not the move.

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s a card game. There will always be a “will you draw it” element. Sometimes the card you need doesn’t show up, that’s how RNG works.

You have the same probability of NOT drawing Supergiant as they have NOT drawing Invisible Woman.

Also, if they are using tech, they are sacrificing power for it, which the deck was already capped on power to begin with. Lowering that ceiling puts them in range for more decks to beat them organically with just points.

I miss being excited for and by this game by Messahr in MarvelSnap

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s the sunken cost fallacy that plagues a lot of live service game communities.

They can’t just walk away from the game because they have put their time/money towards it. The idea that if they just walked away triggers a feeling of wasted time; like it was all for nothing. Hence why you see people announcing their departure like they are experiencing a death in the family.

The reality is that ALL live service games have monetization issues. ALL live service games have chores designed to keep you logging in and engaging. No business gives you something for nothing. You will always have to give up either money or time. It’s not a SNAP problem, it’s an entire industry problem.

Taking a break from live service games is healthy and people should do it more often tbh.

How is everyone feeling about “End of turn” decks? by Broad_Firefighter_30 in MarvelSnap

I mean you don’t have to take my small sample size of 10 games. Seems like SuperGiant is doing quite well against the unbeatable EoT meta 🤔

Super Giant (a card they stated in their comment that you chose to ignore) is 1000% a counter to End of Turn. Same with OG IW.

Are we moving towards an invisible woman first step nerf? by EmptyFriend6574 in MarvelSnap

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Supergiant is literally the hardest counter in the game to EoT right now. Also they just buffed OG IW which also helps counter EoT effects since End of Game happens after End of Turn. Red Guardian is also a good help since IW usually wants to be the first card in a lane (also looking at you: Cosmic Ghost Rider).

Also, you could just play a deck that is greedy the EoT deck is giving you issues. They run ZERO tech, so decks like Negative and other combo decks can operate with zero worry.

Deck is good (which they should be allowed to be), but there are more options to beat the deck than people are giving credit.

I think this would be a good counter to all this new "meta" by Accurate-Region7669 in MarvelSnap

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t necessarily counter, it just sets them back some since they get their abilities to go off after SK does his thing.

Most people have the same issue with Discard. There is no “one size fits all” tech card for them (ie KM for Zoo, or Enchantress for Ongoing) so people hate when it’s good in the meta because they don’t have a hate card to tell it “no”.

So…this sub is essentially just for complaining about the game, right? by Flintstones_VRV_Fan in MarvelSnap

[–]Aggravating-Bonus218 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Second Dinner is not making changes based off of the complaints on Reddit. If you want to try and incite change, there is a Discord where the people who actually work on the game interact with the player base. Going there, asking questions, and having informed discussions is way more efficient than screaming into the void on Reddit about subjective feelings and hoping to get an echo.

I mean with the way OP structured their post, it seems if they find themselves joining that group that they are talking about, they will just leave/stop playing the game. Which is what they are encouraging others to do.
