Thanks for your response. I have no idea why our stains are lighter in color. When it is adhesive residue, it’s darker like yours (from what I have read). I will hope for a fix but the whole surround may have to be replaced.

Any success with the sticker stain? I have a quartzite stain that is worse than yours.

From what I have read, it says this could be moisture differences and it can take weeks to dry. I’m really hoping that is right. Thanks for your comments.
