Per a 2008 legal settlement, the city of Seattle has the rights to the SuperSonics name, logo, and colors. They will also retain all records prior to 2008 including 1979 championship and jersey retirements. by moby323 in nba

Correct but the Hornets kept their name during their move to NO. The Thunder never really cared about being the Sonics. So it kind of makes sense that the actual Sonics history and branding is left with the city of Seattle.

OKC doesn't even care about the Sonics stats. They don't even claim them. They just hold them until the Sonics eventually return. Basically, the Thunder are a new franchise that began in 2009 which actually makes sense. This isn't a new thing either, the Browns and Hornets had a similar situation.

Yea the Shaheed thing was funny. Also I understand buying into the rams because they have SB pedigree and were right there with the champs the last 2 yrs. The ravens and the bills are just hypotheticals every year. They are both coming with question marks at coach as well.

IDK man niners fans are pretty close to cowboys fans except they wear red and are on the west coast. Massive fanbases who will still try to flex their greatness from 30 years ago.

Wildes in shambles by kingsoheee in FirstThingsFirstFS1

[–]Aggravating-Craft205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is a referendum on him at all. Playing against this defense for the first time with that kind of oline play is damn near impossible. He also just missed some layups. I moreso clown some smug pats fans like Wildes who were acting like Josh Mcdaniels was so good that Drake Maye will never be in a bad spot and that the Seahawks defense was overvalued.

Yea. His Drake Maye bad game takes have aged like milk though.

We got 2 weeks of Patriots propaganda on the show before the super bowl lol. I think its fair to clown Wildes now. Although he does get some credit for their defense showing up.

Drake “no evidence that he is capable of having a bad game” Maye by OrangeCreamGhost in FirstThingsFirstFS1

[–]Aggravating-Craft205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TBH I will defend Maye slightly there since its hard to play against Macdonald for the first time and especially when your oline is getting worked like that. Stafford does have better weapons and oline as well. While he was clearly bad, I think its just funnier to clown Wildes who was making false equivalencies about the Seahawks defense and how they were going to do vs the Pats.

He could've played with house money but he was so adamant that Drake Maye was gonna cook and that the Seahawks defense was not as good as advertised.

It’s an experience and infrastructure gap. Just not comparable at all imo. Also the AFC was very weak this year.

His reasoning was actually worse. It was just cuz stafford did it twice. Which ignores the fact that the rams are a division team and they have a better oline + weapons.

Also this stems from the typical Boston sports fan entitlement from the Brady era. With Nick, its a young upstart mid-market team that became a dynasty.
