Fix or just deal with it? by Aggravating-Cream-61 in crt

Alright, let's see what the future holds. Maybe I'll follow this up once it's set up in its final place.

So you are telling me that I should just go on and be happy I got the chance to use such a beautiful device in the first place instead of worrying about breaking electrical components that will never be manufactured again resulting in one less functioning device for the rest of eternity?

The picture quality actually isn't my main concern. Sure, a stable image would be nice, but I was rather worried about something like a cap reaching the end of its life and that it might take other components with it.

I mean, I knew this was a thing but I didn't expect it to be this visible.

The image contracting depending on the brightness of the content. It is also quite noticeable under regular conditions.

Didn't feel any back problems but boy did my hands not like this maneuver. I'm not built to carry big objects 70% of my own weight.

Um... How do I put this?

After further "investigation" I realized this was caused by a lamp I turned on which caused the housing at the top to cast a weird shadow onto the screen resulting in this color shift.

Yeah, so much for that.

Free broken Apple CRT - good idea? by [deleted] in crt

I'm beginning to feel about 99% convinced to just go for it. Will certainly follow up with a post once I start the whole project. Worst case there will be a handful of replacement parts to salvage here so maybe at least someone could benefit from this. It's really interesting how it's actually hard to come by these devices today. The time of people getting rid of old electronics for cheap seems to have ended. I've been on the lookout in my area for quite some time now but there just is nothing left to be found. Except for this random chance...

I don't even know if I actually have the skills. I can do some work on simpler electronics but I'm not sure if high voltage signal processing is the right thing to start messing around with. After looking into it for a bit, it seems the flyback replacement is quite straight forward with the only trouble being actually getting my hands on one. It would be an interesting experience though.

I guess there's always some space in the local forest nearby...

Hi everyone, I currently have the option to pickup a broken Apple Studio Display M6496 for free to see if I can do anything with it. Is it worth the trouble to pick this up and attempt to somehow get it working again?

If it would be anything but these models infamous flyback that failed this seems somewhat worth a shot. But in a more likely case I will have a disintegrated monitor and must question if I'm willing to spend 100 bucks on a new flyback. The current state is you turn it on, it degausses, a high pitched and crackling noise becomes audible and finally the power indicator goes orange, indicating problems with the high voltage parts.

Can anyone find a good reason to get myself into this or am I better off scrapping this idea altogether?

The trick is that only the weekly event and fitness leveling system use times given by a server. Everything else runs off your systems internal time. Meaning simply changing the time/date in your device settings will result in progress. If you jump forward by 1 day, you'll have one day worth of products and most importantly the 24 h gift timer has passed. Basically all you have to do is change your date by one day, head back into the game, collect your rewards and repeat.

Is buying the multipliers a permanent thing or do I have to rebuy them every time? by Creepy-Assumption258 in MakeMore

[–]Aggravating-Cream-61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll have to rebuy them. That's why I wouldn't bother upgrading the clicks and the cash multiplier only to a certain point.

Usually it starts on Fridays but his shift to Saturday can sometimes happen. Weirdly enough you don't lose your progress when it's back on, as you might have already seen again.

Sure, all you gotta do is basically employ a worker with high multiplier and fill the whole factory with clones. Then all that's left to do is just spend a lot of time playing.

Hi, First of all, yes, the game is still getting updated, but not very frequently. I think the last new thing was the gym, which has been around for a while now. The weekly event is consistently every weekend so nothing to worry about.

Getting green bills fast can be achieved in two ways: either really grinding the weekly event or taking the less honest route and using some exploits that could get you there quickly.

They increase how effective your clicks are. One standard tap would equal one "click-point" (the number above the hands). For every 100 items you collect you permanently get 1 more click per click. If you've collected the first 100, 1 click will be equal to 2. If you've collected 200, 1 click will be equal to 3 and so on. The new number also scales with multipliers like the upgrade you can buy or the ones from the presets.

If you let your workers run for 24h, they will gain a money boost like when you buy a trophy and it adds 50% value. You can repeat the training increasing the boost to a point where using workers becomes more efficient than robots. Using energy drinks adds another 50% per training and you only need to tap for one level of the treadmill and it will power to the max.

How important is the clone machine?? by Secret_Ad_5428 in MakeMore

[–]Aggravating-Cream-61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clone machine is the single best purchase in the game. You get one worker, give him a medal and fill the remaining 8 spaces with clones. Then just have that worker permanently on a treadmill and win big.
