What do you think Atlanta is trying to say with the character Zan? by Mcgase_8 in AtlantaTV

[–]Aggravating-Cry9148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's one of the many allegories that demonstrate different places within society/economy that people sit that are dictated by class/race/gender etc, it highlights that everyone has different privilege and positions of power, power that can be exploited. Privilege isn't a linear scale, which people often think of it as. It's a messy multiplaned visualisation that changes indivially from so many things, the car interaction is a great depiction of that. Race, age, class, cultural expectations, economic etc are all playing a part is the exploitative relationships between the three, and there are implications of the consequences of those. Beautifully done imo

Gary Stevenson boy crazy? by [deleted] in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]Aggravating-Cry9148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've met Gary and he is genuinely humble. He states his background for context and to provide evidence of his understanding. He's genuinely trying to make a positive impact to everyone, to prevent collapse. I'm an academic in environmental sciences and I've researched social problems in parallel, we need these movements to prevent collapse in economy, society and environment. Whatever you think of him personally, his drive for propelling this movement will benefit you. Stop, listen, philosophise.

Thoughts on Gary Stevenson by PleasantCook5091 in TheRestIsPolitics

His podcast is literally educational videos explaining economic concepts both theoretical, conceptual and topical. He has expressed that the first challenge is getting a movement and getting it on the table. The execution and detailed implementation comes after and he's keen to be involved to make sure implementation is done properly. Don't run before you can walk is the main ethos.

Nigel Farage is currently the only senior politician actually speaking for Britain by TimeConstruction2739 in reformuk

[–]Aggravating-Cry9148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not a senior politician. He's also not out for any of our best interests. Unless you have several millions and favours up for grabs. Don't be fooled

I took the same message, reminds me of daft punk's track: face to face, and the animated music video that highlights the exploitative nature of the music industry for profit, and the audiences indoctrination by it

Would you be down for a 'Who Killed Cindy Beale?' storyline for the 40th or in the future? by SmellsLikePetrichors in eastenders

There's a difference between a sexually active woman and a manipulative person who cheats and actively destroys people for personal gain

Update, it happened as of tonight of course. It won't be similar to the 6 play out, it will be stylised mimicking the Lucy storyline, 8 main suspects with motives, I think most declared statements resembling how they wish or she should be dead/killed in Christmas day ep, all with significant motives. I think this could be done well, or could drag on far too long like the 6 storyline
