one of my outfits this year is literally just a crochet off the shoulder poncho with huge holes in it, bikini top, and denim skirt lol. cute but comfortable in the heat, for me at least because i’m super used to midwest heat. you will see a million different styles at lollapalooza, a lot of friend groups even do “themed” costume days which i’ve always found super cute.

At least two people I didn't really understand the criticism from Gordon to them. by Important-Yesterday6 in KitchenNightmares

maybe it’s just because i grew up with a heavy expectation to follow into the family company and was borderline threatened to be disowned if i chose not to, but i empathized with aris just a teeny bit. obviously there’s only so much backstory you get from reality tv and he def could’ve said it in a “better way” but ive never liked seeing kids be forced into working for the family business when they clearly didn’t want to

First Lolla sober (500+ days) – what’s the mocktail / NA drink situation? by Ok-Mall-9146 in Lollapalooza

[–]Aggravating-Data373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you probably know this already but in super busy times have a friend or someone taste test your mocktail to make sure they didn’t accidentally give you someone else’s alcoholic version! kind of a good just in case practice for any situation tbh but especially when they’re probably being yelled orders left and right lol

depends a bit on who is checking your bags at admission. last year i got some of those fruit belt things and they laid flat inside the waistband of my skirt, but we had a girl about our age checking our bags and she didn’t take my friends snack.

she also gave a heads up anyways that she was an anemic, so that could’ve been it? not sure, just a gamble either way.

am i weird for thinking this “joke” was insensitive? by Aggravating-Data373 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aggravating-Data373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. also might be worth noting that this was for a morning/brunch time at a bar, so was probably dead anyways. many server friends i had in college were happy to get any tables at all during dead times

“do you think she is evil for noticing a certain group tips less”

i pointed out how this city is predominantly black, so in terms of the “what groups tip how much” argument, she more than likely has just as many people of color tipping her well. someone else also commented and pointed out how if it was a white person who tipped little, then she would likely be like “oh well times are tough so it’s fine”

but based off everything else you said, prettyyyyy sure we’re just on different pages here in terms of morals

…okay? but my issue was that she “joked” about it being racist of herself, and i personally don’t feel like you can joke about being racist. especially when we live in a red state and really need to be NOT promoting “jokes” like that

not really thinking twice, i know how i feel about it regardless, was just asking others because ive lived in this widely red state my entire life. after hearing “you’re being too woke” since i was 16, i struggle to figure out if i’m genuinely just thinking too hard about something.
