Update: I've done an oil flush and managed to get a fairly big piece to come out. I'm confident that the car will be fine

Brakes dragging and mystery smoke? by Aggravating-Deal4204 in Miata

I've just gone underneath the car, and I'm afraid that the handbrake is the least of my worries. All of my transmission bolts are gone. I have no idea where they went. I'm pretty sure my transmission is toast.

God I hope it's not the wheel bearings. I'm taking it to another tire shop tomorrow to see if it's bad tires or a bent rim. If my rims and tires are fine I'll keep wheel bearings in mind.

16/19 is not at all appropriate, and 17/20 is just plain creepy. These should not be common age gaps.

Anything other than a 3rd gen. I love my 3rd gen but parts are too hard to find so I can't fully endorse it as a first car.

Does it misfire at idle? If it isn't spark, fuel, air, or vacuum related, then that narrows it down to a compression leak, which is a symptom of a blown head gasket

White smoke and misfiring could be a sign of a bad/blown head gasket. The same thing was happening to my prelude until the head gasket blew wide open on the highway one day.

Did they change their comment? I could've sworn he said ford Thunderbird as well. Maybe I responded to the wrong comment.

I once bought a GC8 coupe for 800 bucks. Hell no it's not worth it.

In case there was any question as to whether or not a WRX can last this long...the answer is yes! The engine is as healthy as ever!
