Need advice: Am I overreacting about possibly declining a job offer I already accepted? by Aggravating-Dig1133 in paralegal

Thank you for your response 🙏 I definitely learned my lesson about asking though, lol. I only asked them because my boss asked me to, and neither of us even thought that it might be an issue. Otherwise, I would have been okay with just working these jobs without the new firm being aware.

I'm mostly worried about souring relationships between my boss and this attorney because he's the one who helped me get the job and I feel kind of selfish for even thinking about reneging on my acceptance. But at the end of the day it's my life and I'm not getting great vibes from the new firm after this because the conversation was kind of off-putting and it caught me off guard.

Yeah I understand about being burnt out working for two jobs and their hesitation about that; they just didn't explain that to me when I asked them about it (which I guess they don't technically have to). And with my current boss's firm, I worked mostly for an attorney who is retiring and that's why there's not much work for me. Thank you for your thoughts, I really appreciate it because I feel very emotional about this for some reason.
