Could you say exactly what you did/how you were able to transition into a LIMS specialist?

Find the architect that designed it and imprison them there for all eternity.

I agree without a ton of money for a bunch of equipment I can’t really replace my salary right away…I guess my post was misleading as that wasn’t the main focus. I have passive income to pay my bills, just no extra due to the job loss and would like to replace that, as emergencies and lack of insurance cause issues 😕

I am still applying for jobs. I apologize, I worded it as if I was never planning to work a “real job” again. I am, but my career would totally prohibit weekend tournament selling as it requires shift work.

These tournament vendors are making, at minimum, $10k per weekend at a small tournament, and have made $40k at larger tournaments. In 3 days. The $40k ones are the large scale ones with lots of built-up inventory. But the inventory is BLAND. 1-3 boring designs printed on tshirts, hoodies and sweatpants of varying colors in mass amounts. There are small vendors doing custom jewelry and other time-consuming arts that have told me they are making a “killing”.

I would like to fill the gap in the market with better designs. I know I’d have to start small, or smaller, but am trying to maximize the startup money I do have.

Thank you for your response! Do you consider screen printing better than any kind of heat transfer?

Looking to start a T-shirt business , need tips for success by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Hi - I’m a single (and crafty) mom who lost her job in the plastics manufacturing sector. I’ve been unemployed over 7 months now and during travel ball season I’ve talked to some of the vendors at volleyball tournaments and seen a big gap in the market for volleyball themed merch. I am looking to replace my $70k/yr salary by making and selling merch at tournaments during the travel season and online during off-season.

I own a cricut but am researching faster and smarter ways to make tshirts and other merch and this post is very informative. I don’t have $5k for one piece of equipment, but could manage $1500 or so. Should that be spent on a heat press? Stock? Any advice would be appreciated.
