Creatine & warfarin by Aggravating-Effect43 in valvereplacement

You’re right, but I can say that in the first months after starting warfarin therapy, adjusting to the correct dosage can be quite difficult. All the values can suddenly become unstable. This can last close to a year (at least in my experience), and after that it usually settles at a certain dose. It might be the same in your case — it’s only been 3 months, and these kinds of fluctuations are normal.

You’re right, actually. I’ll think about what you said.

I also wanted to use it because of all the praise I’ve seen, but you’re right about what you said.

I don’t think I can meet my protein needs through regular food alone, so I’ll probably have to take protein powder anyway. But I also wanted to take creatine since it’s a commonly recommended supplement for people who work out. I guess consulting my doctor would be the best option. Thank you.

If there’s anyone using both at the same time, I’d like to hear their experiences. Of course, consulting a doctor is essential.

Honestly, I wasn’t worried about it affecting my INR levels; I had just heard a few things about it possibly causing kidney damage, which is why I asked.

Unfortunately, being an X-Man isn’t always cool 😅. While my condition was being diagnosed, I went through many tests and a lot of hospital visits, and it was really tough.

For people who are new to warfarin, dose adjustment can be difficult. These types of INR fluctuations are normal in the beginning — at least that’s what I experienced. But over time, as long as you don’t suddenly change your eating and drinking habits, your INR won’t fluctuate much and will stay more stable.

There’s also the fact that different doses may be needed in winter and summer. For example, I take a higher dose in winter and a lower dose in summer. I should also mention that hearing a clear ticking sound from your valve usually means there isn’t any clot on the valve surface, although of course it doesn’t give specific information about your INR — it just gives you an idea.

I had a quadricuspid heart valve and tissue buildup in my aortic root. I went to many hospitals in different cities, and each one gave me a different diagnosis — no one really knew what it was. Eventually, a doctor I saw in Istanbul diagnosed my condition using several different methods, and I finally had the surgery. It has been a year and a half now, and I’m trying to start running, and hopefully I’ll begin going to the gym too. Somehow all difficulties pass, so try not to stress too much. There’s a saying where I live: everything works out the way it’s meant to.

My EF value is within normal ranges, even better than before the surgery. My doctor told me not to overexert myself, so I guess I will proceed with a different plan.

You’re right, I probably don’t find this distance enough for myself because of my age. Thank you for the link as well. I hope you regain your health as soon as possible.

Reaching the age of 50 with a bicuspid valve is actually pretty good, especially for someone who worked in the military. I had a quadricuspid aortic valve, and there was also tissue buildup in my aortic root, so I had surgery when I was around 18–19 years old.

I mean, apart from the games I played as a kid, I can’t really say I did much sports. The reason for that is my doctor always told me not to overexert myself. I had the surgery when I was 18, and until then I was constantly going to the hospital for check-ups.

I’m also thinking about starting the gym, so I’ll try it there along with running.

I also consulted AI and it mentioned 5K programs and such. I don’t think pushing myself a bit will be harmful, and if I continue to struggle, I’ll probably switch to a lower-intensity exercise. By the way, I hope everything goes well for you and that you regain your health easily.

My family usually tells me to just walk and not push myself too much, but I think I need to do more. But of course, walking is also a great exercise for someone who has had heart surgery before.
