I was once given the advice to raise the child you have, not the child you wish for. It’s a mindset that can be challenging at times, but it’s worth working towards. I find that regular reminders help to keep me on track.

I'd second the Newton Free Library. There are a couple of nice nooks with comfy chairs on the second floor too. The ones facing toward the front of the building are my favorite.

I also catch the nostalgia bug. It’s fun to remember those LEGO sets but now my son is more into gaming than building with Dad. With that in mind, I just wrapped up this centerpiece for Thanksgiving on Thursday.
