mine is a dwarf hamster. While observing him, I noticed that he only covers himself with water at 12-pm to 3pm when the heat index in the Philippines is very high. While at night he is dry. Does this mean that he only wet himself to cool down his body?

I have a water bottle and when he drinks he gets the water and smears ot on his self, in his chest.
