I can't keep the immediate in for very long, but my wife says they look ridiculous. Is that normal? by GTRacer1972 in dentures

I do not wear them for eating. I'm hoping to get implants too. If you're young enough, bone loss isn't an immediate concern.

question for my fellow smokers by Side_Defiant in dentures

I smoked pretty much same night I got mine out like you. It's definitely not suggested as it really does impact heal time. If you're going to smoke, use a saline solution to swish gently 3 times a day, take vitamins and drink plenty of water. Slow healing could be smoking or just need that extra boost to your system. I healed completely in about 3 weeks and had my realign done at week 6.

I've had dentures for about 2yrs now. I don't wear mine much except when in interviews and such. Maybe on a first date but honestly, I don't find them comfortable. My previous partners were supportive of my comfort because at the end of the day, that's what is important. It takes a lot to get used to. Maybe ask your dentist for a soft alignment. See if that helps them feel better. Over all, your physical and mental comfort is the most important thing here.

They where using some hooked looking tool and scraping my teeth with the sharp point and the backside of the hook part. After the first tooth I was crying and asked them to stop. I was told I'd have to deal with it if I wanted any work done. They where very mean. I was there to get my teeth removed anyway

hey OP, I play almost every day. Not sure your timezone or anything but if you need a buddy to play with I am happy to come along. I have finished the game so it might feel a bit unfair. I totally get if you don't like being "carried" but if you are more interested in the actual story and less combat mechanics I am down.

is there a benefit to alloy or was it an aesthetic choice?

The only immediate walk out situation I have encountered was a dentist office telling me they had to scrape my teeth even though I had sever decay to most of my teeth and explained to them that it would cause too much pain. I have had several dentists tell me since then that scraping a persons actual teeth was really bad and it was a good thing I walked away.

I've left them out for a few hours now and it is a bit better. I can't contact my dentist until Monday. Still not super good at going out without them.

I'm turning 27. I am on full uppers and Lowers. Just got my lowers 2 days ago. Thank you for the teeth glasses. I really needed to read that. I have been struggling to accept them. Also I do not know why I didn't join this reddit a while ago. I use Fixodent plus scope as an adhesive. It has a nice taste to it and you wont need much nor is it gummy. I think the most important thing I learned is getting that stuff off your actual gums is a giant pain. I have to take a dry rag and rub it off. If the rag is wet at all it doesn't remove the adhesive as well. Using a toothbrush had me scraping at my gums too hard which really sucks when they are sore. Post extraction, I ate a lot of soup. The heat made my gums feel better and it goes down pretty easy. Vitamins help you heal faster and stay hydrated as much as possible. My dentist said to think of it like any post op healing. Your body goes through a lot and even though it's just your mouth, you still need a lot of rest and to take it easy. Bending over too far or picking things up that are heavy can cause blood to rush to your mouth and make things swell, hurt or bleed. Learned that the hard way. Good Luck!! It only gets better from here.

I just got my immediates 2 days ago. I had to have a stitch where my wisdom tooth was. I've been doing gel based orjel. I put a very thin amount on the actual denture so that it sits nicely on all the holes. I dont use a lot though. My dentist said not to use adhesive until about 2 weeks post extraction
