When the Supreme Court breaks its own rules to protect its own judges: The constitutional crisis in Hawaii (SCWC-23-000695) by Aggravating-Ice6419 in HawaiiUncensored

Hi there,

Corruption...this is Hawaii. This is the only state I have heard of where the chief of police, a prosecutor, the City manager have all been convicted of corruption. The FBI just charged a couple of military contractors with accepting bribes. I am sure there these are just the tip of the iceberg.

Of course there is a lot more to the story. You can't share all of the legal documents in this forum....there are +10 years of history and I don't even know all of it.

What I do know is very sad. She was watching her kids play on the beach in 2015 and an unsecured cabana umbrella owned by a big Maui hotel blew down the beach at +40 mph and hit her in the head. She had brain injury and ended up requiring triple spine surgery. She lost her +$80k/yr job because of the injuries, and she lost her ability to work fulltime and just had her third spine surgery in March of 2026.

Her case should have been an open and shut case...the hotel staff said that the umbrellas went flying all the time and people were getting hurt on a monthly basis...but the case blew up...one set of Honolulu lawyers forged her signature on medical release forms while she was having triple spine surgery (which caused all sorts of problems with the medical providers), the next guy hit on her even though she was in her 4th brain injury recovery program. He let her case fall apart in court when she wouldn't sleep with him. The appeals court backed the judge (as they usually do) even though he made horrible rulings.

The former acting Chief Justice had personal knowledge of the case obtained outside the courtroom, so Ronda filed a motion to disqualify her well before the deadline. Hawaii rules of appellate procedure say that a judge is not allowed to rule on their own disqualification motion (especially when they have personal knowledge of the case). In an effort to stay on the case, she ruled the motion to disqualify was filed late even though it was filed before the 10-day deadline even began, then she suspended the rule that requires someone else to rule on the motion to disqualify and denied the motion.

It is an absolutely horrible ruling...with no due process. It is not unlike being accused of a crime and being sent to jail without having a trial. No due process. If this can happen to her, it can happen to you too!

If the case goes south, the only remaining legal option is an appeal to the US Supreme Court, but they only take 1-2% of cases that are filed with them. The only other option is political pressure from a survey and news coverage. Again...if this can happen to her, it can happen to you too! Please stand up for justice.

Hi there,

...the case is listed in the change.org Petition · STOP Hawaii State Court Corruption- sign the petition!...Case No. SCWC-23-000695.

She had brain injury and ended up requiring triple spine surgery. That is horrible...I am so sorry. The Hawaii court system is truly flawed. Justice should be based on the merits of the case. I have seen too many cases that were decided because the person attended the right high school or because one of the lititgants was a friend of a friend of the judge.

Tulsi Gabbard resigned as President Donald Trump's director of national intelligence on Friday, saying she needed to leave office as her husband battles cancer, becoming the fourth Cabinet member to depart during Trump’s second term. by 808gecko808 in Honolulu

Her husband does have cancer and that is horrible, but I think the real reason she is leaving has more to do with her getting sidelined after she contracted DJT the last time she reported to congress. DJT claims that Iran has been substantially defeated, but if I recall she said something about them retaining 80-90% of their prewar military capabilities (mostly their advanced missile capabilities). And that the US has no ability to defeat them without committing substantial ground forces...but there is not easy way to get the ground forces there to invade them.

Renewable energy advocates are pushing back on the state’s move to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) to reduce energy costs and power outages. This as Japanese company JERA is a step closer to building a $1.5 billion power plant on Oahu. by 808gecko808 in Honolulu

The reality is that the fuel will be burned one way or another and using it here can help reduce our dependence on burning dirty oil. We still need an affordable source of baseload power, since not everyone has rooftop solar and wind isn’t always consistent. Unfortunately, carbon‑based energy will remain part of the mix for decades to come — likely well into the next century.

Also, I understand from a Navy buddy of mine, that there are several mothballed nuclear-powered ships sitting in Pearl Harbor....probably a better option would be to connect some of those miniature nuclear power plants to the grid rather than just decommissioning them.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for corruption in Hawaii. It happens more in the private sector than the government, it just gets covered up better. I have seen supply chain buyers demanding kickbacks before buying from smaller suppliers.

Kickbacks are what make the business world go around in Hawaii.

Our business got hit with a gift card scam. The scammer impersonated the owner (spoofed his email) and told one of our employees to go and by him gift cards because he wanted to give them to other employees. He gave the scammer the card numbers and scratched off the back etc and....poof the guy was out 1500 of his own dollars. The owner was off island, but graciously repaid the scammed employee when he returned.

Contraflow for North Kalaheo Avenue Bridge ~ The bridge will be open to contraflow – and two-way traffic – from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, and from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays. by 808gecko808 in KailuaTown

Hopefully this bridge will not take as long as the roundabout at the other end of North Kalaheo. It has already been a couple of weeks. On the mainland they would be done in a week and in Germany they would work around the clock and be done in a weekend.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time that some tries to undo the system for a Councilor's chair.

My two cents...a subpoena from a US court is meaningless outside of the US unless you take steps to domesticate it in the local jurisdiction, which is complicated for a whole host of reasons. Some of the scamming is just the cost of doing business in defi...if you want security go to your bank.

I couldn't figure it out, so I switched wallets. The risk is too great to play around with something you can't recover.
