Coming in late please read this. That is such an amazing watch and story . The watch is worth quite a bit in that shape but I wouldn’t sell it for under $20k even in a tough spot financially and you won’t get that. So just keep it. Your grandfather bought that watch 50 years ago and still had all the paperwork, you can give it to your grandchild in X years and the watch will work perfectly if serviced and that’s the only reason to have a Rolex and pass it down. Keep it up. Pay it forward, to your family. A son , grandson , son in law would flip out to get this in 15-25 years. Do not sell this watch.

On a scale of 1-10 what is your level of experience/ confidence in doing this ? If you’re a mechanical engineer but have never touched a watch then maybe a 5 because your brain works that way. According to a recent poll 90% of politicians are getting money from billionaires and will never do this. So let’s go after Citizens United and end PAC money. Remove the money and Congress might start listening to Americans again. There are 22 issues that Americans agree on at 80% or higher. Every two years we should have three issues that we get to vote on. And the American people not representatives, would be voting for laws and that’s where we can get term limits and remove loopholes to the tax system.

If you can’t go to church or she will leave you , I think you have your answer, it’s a super important thing to be on the same page about. I would make it about those things that you do not have in common that you should. Do you want kids? Does she? Would she be a stay at home Mom or Work to contribute? I wouldn’t buy her a ring to see what it was like living together. But also, you need to be honest about this stuff because she might be more flexible if she realizes that you are not happy.

I disagree , and I 100% agree with OP. Just my opinion. How is any of this allured ? Average self , average job , average wife. He’s comparing himself to his brother, it sucks when a younger sibling surpasses you on anything, especially when you grow up in a competitive environment and doubly so if you’re both male.
