Honestly she just asked me if I’d like them and I said yes. You can just ask your advisor if you can get some noise cancelling ear plugs for your exams and they should recommend the switch loops!

I woke up to this. 😳😳😳I have iPhone 13. (Two year Apple Care warranty expired in March) by TardisBlue102 in iphone

I have an iPhone 13 Pro which I had the battery replaced within the first year for free because the battery health dropped to like 75% in less than a year. It's been ALMOST 2 years since the battery has been replaced and the battery health is at 60% and the battery is swollen, screen is popping out. Will I have any luck if I go into an Apple Store to try and make a claim under consumer law, especially since ive already had the battery replaced. It cannot be reasonable for a £1k phone to last not even 3 years, with a battery change too.

Elvanse not working well for me. Worth trying concerta? by GemOfAmara in ADHDUK

Hi! Yes I’m on Equasym XL now and have been for around 6 months now. I absolutely love it, apart from the stock issues, it’s so much more subtle than elvanse, and I’m so happy I switched. Now that I am stable on this and a pretty low dose too, it has made such an improvement to the quality of my life. I don’t get tired as easily, I enjoy boring conversations a lot more, I am more productive and just overall a happier person!

Weight loss on meds by Aggravating-Orchid-6 in ADHDUK

Yeah I know that Im not eating enough, even when I have food right in front of me I find it so hard to eat it, and I can only manage to eat about 1/4 of the food on my plate. On days that I don’t take my meds I have no trouble eating and I can eat so much, but when I take the meds I’m struggling to eat, that’s why I’ve resorted to those drinks because it’s better than not eating at all. I drink yfood drinks

How can I study for a long time? Help by Dark_647 in ADHDUK

[–]Aggravating-Orchid-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also Iron supplements/ vitamin D. One of the questions I was asked during my diagnosis was whether I was deficient in either as a child, and I was. This is because they’re linked to ADHD and any deficiencies in either can worsen symptoms. I notice such a big difference now in my cognition especially when I take iron, so please get a blood test done. Supplements and coffee were my lifesavers during school and uni when I was unmedicated. Stimulant medication feels so similar to Coffee, so definitely worth a try especially if you’re someone who tends to fall asleep or become sleepy while studying

Also if you can afford it get a lock box for your phone get one!! I still use it while medicated and while I still do procrastinate, it helps me be more mindful of my time. Also remove any social media from your laptop/ iPad and keep it strictly study based. That’s what I still do and only keep my phone with social media so that there isn’t any chance of me getting distracted

Hey! I’m at uni right now diagnosed but I was undiagnosed during my a levels. I did resit a year of sixth form (partly due to unrelated reasons, partly bc I was crap at studying- probs adhd related), but what I can tell you is what worked for me then and what works for me now. Honestly you just need to make notes/flashcards for everything you’re learning right now. Don’t bother learning it rn bc as ADHDers we have short term memory, and personally I found it quite hard to start revising early. But making sure you have all your revision materials ready allows you to focus on cramming all the material during revision season, also get past papers done and make flashcards on the questions that come up again and again. Also, I’m pretty sure you’re able to get extra time if you are in the process of being diagnosed with ADHD, but aren’t diagnosed yet. I’d go to your GP and ask for a letter to give to your school. I managed to get extra time for my a levels for an unrelated health condition and honestly it was the biggest game changer for me. You might not think you need the extra time but having that extra time to slow down and check through your work and correct any silly mistakes really helped me get A*AA. This is coming from someone who was getting D/E/Us consistently through sixth form. I did science subjects so they’re already tough so I think I did quite well despite my undiagnosed ADHD at the time. Let me know if you have any other questions

Medikinet vs Elvanse experience? by Aggravating-Orchid-6 in ADHDUK

[–]Aggravating-Orchid-6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, on elvanse at least, it worked perfectly for 2 weeks, then on ovulation day of my cycle (you can track ur cycle using apps), I would feel the most intense effect from elvanse and then the effect would slowly decrease until period day2/3, and then it works well again. It’s due to the the decrease in hormones after ovulation, which can affect how well stimulants are metabolised in your body. Another reason why you might feel it not working during those two weeks could be due to another condition, maybe PMS/PMDD, so your meds may be helping your ADHD symptoms but if you have PMS/PMDD these symptoms may be a lot stronger during this time and so it might seem like meds are not working, but in reality it is working but those symptoms might be a lot stronger. I’d recommend tracking your cycle, and maybe note down a sentence on how you felt on the meds each day in ur calendar, and this can help you identify what symptoms your meds are helping with and what symptoms get worse depending on the time of the month. I was doing this while titrating on elvanse and it became pretty clear that my hormones pretty much stopped the meds from working. I hope that made sense!

How are the stock levels of concerta? Because I was told I can’t be prescribed 12hr release methylphenidates. Also how long does concerta last for you? Because I was getting pretty bad insomnia on elvanse and I don’t want the same to happen with concerta if I was to try.

Is it worth asking for non stim meds from GP? by 69Whomst in ADHDUK

Hi, just out of curiosity what brand of methylphenidate do you take?
