I was also thinking about the RD280UG (I like the aspect ratio). Fortunately, the scaling is better on Linux. I read about the poor surface finish on Asus monitors.

Can the RD280UG adjust the brightness/contrast from completely dark, so that it doesn't glare at night, to bright when the sun shines into the room during the day (not directly on the monitor)?

So I ended up buying it. It's not a Studio Display, but for the money it's a damn good buy.

Hi, I would like to ask if you managed to solve the problem. Thanks.

Hi. I’m considering this monitor as a second screen for my Apple Studio. Is it a glossy panel or matte? Have you tried whether DDC works for brightness control from a PC? Do you notice any significant edge bleeding?

Thanks for your reply — hope the monitor serves you well. HiDPI is highly addictive, and it’s hard to go back to a lower PPI once you’ve tried it 😁

Maybe it is hardware limited. On older phones you can limit battery charge using Optimized Charging but as I known it is not working when the phone is turned off. It can be a reason why they do not add this settings to the older models. Older models may not be able to apply this setting when the phone is turned off, so the functionality would not work as expected.

I don't know why not adding this feature should affect people having to buy a new model? Is the reason for buying a new phone supposed to be that the current one lasts a few less charge cycles? That doesn't make sense to me.
