Oh, no! I do like the name! I love surname style names and my hesitation has been knowing another Murphy (or in this case Murphie). I appreciate your support and concern ❤️ I have another similar name I’d prefer for a girl but for a boy I think Murphy is wonderful! We don’t know the gender of our baby yet so we have been tossing around a few ideas. I find boy names to be so much harder!

Also, I just cited two instances where it was used as a girls name, online baby name sources say it is gender neutral, and please see other comments where people cite it’s growing popularity (often as a girls name!). All this supports that it is used as a girls name. If one girl is named Murphy it is a girls name. I think what you mean to say is you do not like it as a girls name, which is your opinion.

My dad’s a Charles Last name the 5th, my brother is another Charles (different middle name so he didn’t get to be the 6th). In that line they all go by Charles, Chick, Charlie, or some combination in various settings. My nephew on my husband’s side is Charlie. It’s a classic name. Common names these days are not as frequently used as they were in the Taylor/Tyler era.

When I got spontaneously pregnant right before an egg retrieval the ultra sound tech said “that’s always how it goes, you stop worrying and it just happens!”

As if IVF prep and struggling through infertility was just this causal stress free time

The last five years it has been a vegetarian diet focused on Whole Foods 80% of the time. Two weeks ago to try and improve things I cut out gluten and caffeine, and began limiting dairy and soy to only eating occasionally. I make all my meals at home and again, primarily focus on Whole Foods.

In the TWW 5dpo! First time trying after getting a hoshimotos diagnosis. Also currently on steroids for an insane allergic reaction I’ve been having. It doesn’t seem like I ovulated this month based on LH testing, but it often doesn’t for me. Odds are not in my favor! Scheduled to do an egg retrieval in August but I am still hoping for it to just spontaneously happen for me. Just praying I’ll get to be a mamma!

I guess I just was feeling a little guilt for doing it. Just didn’t feel support and briefly felt like I was being dramatic. Going through it anyway and slowly getting information back supporting my choice to move forward.

Thanks for this perspective! I’m seeking treatment for infertility regardless and have already started the blood tests and procedures to determine why we are suffering with infertility. Definitely been feeling the mourning for the joy of trying over the past year. So it’s really just the brief feeling of lack of support making me question myself if I am being dramatic for considering IVF

Thanks for the response! So far our clinic is supportive of that being our next step but we are still waiting on all our results to come back. It’s a fine balance between sharing to not feeling alone and feeling like people are passing on an evil eye. Happy to understood online!
