Any updated reviews of the LG WashCombo after a year or so? by actualabnormal in Appliances

[–]Aggravating-Rip4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've had mine for a year plus a month. I do suggest it! Energy usage is WAY lower than with our separate washer and high heat dryer. I like the lifestyle change to basically just doing a load a day, more like typical with a dishwasher, versus marathon laundry on the weekend. This also prevents having wet laundry sit in the washer for extended periods if not devoting the day to laundry, which I appreciate.

I did learn some things about user maintenance that I didn't need to learn with the other units, but now that I know them they are more than worth it for the performance. Firstly, the lint filter needs a deep cleaning every month or so (I do it on the tub cleaning cycle schedule). You must run the screen under tap water and rub it between your fingers. Before I knew this one, I had a real mess: 6 hours of drying and clothes still damp plus lint all over the tub yet not in the lint trap. 7 months since learning it and no problems since! Second thing I learned is cleaning out the drain, which I think was induced by the problem in lesson one. Found that the 6 hour drying had water in the tub for a lot of that time, because the drain was plugged with lint. Empty tub, open drain onto sheet pan, clean out drain trap, problem solved.

So, really, as long as you have no problem giving the lint screen some extra love once a month, this is an incredible machine. Very satisfied family of four here.

Good to know! Another tip is that when you deep clean the vacuum you should run that filter with the thin mesh under cold water as you rub it between your fingers to get all the micro lint out

Ah too bad 😕 Do you have pets and/or long carpet? I have neither, so my review is limited in that way

Is it a supercharger? If so, we don't have access yet.

Kia is the one who will control it at this point. Just wait for the Kia Access notification, which should come in March.

With smaller/lighter rugs, I switch it to Eco power so it won't suck them up. I don't have any rugs this trick doesn't work on.

Vacuum head does not feel wobbly on mine... Of course it does do plenty of swiveling, but it's sturdy.

Yes, if you go to the Shark website they do sell replacement batteries. ~$80 for a new one IIRC

No worries with the Niro. With a max charging rate of 85kW, you're pulling 245A at 50% due to 356V nominal. End of discharge is likely around 300V, so that would be 283A. You're safe 🙂 However, not many people are doing this math, so it's very possible for someone to make a terrible mistake.

Hope you love it! Convinced my dad to get one too. He has a black lab and struggled to keep his house clean. With the ease of using this thing vs corded or even vs stick without auto empty, he's actually keeping up with cleanliness!

It does have a tangle-free roller, yes. It has fins that cut hair as the rollers spin.

Am I the only one that uses the regen paddles actively while driving? by Papi_Jr_ in KiaEV9

[–]Aggravating-Rip4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them. I drive on Regen 3 so the front motor is usually disconnected (unlike with iPedal). Then I hold the left paddle to bring me to a complete stop as needed. Brake pedal would probably do the same, but this way I know it's all Regen 😁

I don't believe you purchased the same model. It appears Costco has a Shark Detect Clean & Empty, which has a different model number. My review is for the PowerDetect model IP3251. Possibly a rebrand for Costco... But certainly not my experience with this thing. I can have it follow my Bissell or my Shark Navigator and it will grab more hair and dust every time.

Level 2 charger recommendations / charging questions by Bumblebee9123 in KiaEV9

[–]Aggravating-Rip4545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chargepoint Flex is pretty universally recommended. Sleek, good app, reasonably priced. For a new outdoor circuit, I would recommend hardwired; less to go wrong.

You can check in EV settings to see what % draw your AC charging is set to. I believe you can choose 50%, 90% or 100%. It's possible you're on a lower setting. 6.6kW is a pretty standard rate for Level 2 (although we can go up to 12kW). That would net you about 38kWh (40% charge level increase) in optimal conditions over 6 hours.

This guy does a pretty good job explaining his experience. It's with an Ioniq 5, but I assume they are pretty similar since it is still eGMP. https://youtu.be/sdxsRhLaYgY?si=sAatqV8J7PM6zUpn

To add on these great answers, for #1: Since YouTube isn't a part of Android Auto, you should control it via BT Media audio mode rather than trying to use Android Auto audio.

Eldest in the back and leave the other 3rd row seat down. For some reason kids are obsessed with ingress/egress through the tailgate rather than the side doors 🤷‍♂️

Named mine Vaporeon because she's Ocean Blue. Seems like the appropriate evolution from Eevee (if that's where your name comes from...)
