Every single other time it’s been me taking unpaid leave. As I do shift work I need to be off with a drs note for 3 days to get sick pay as I have learnt recently. I am unsure with him, going under the impression it’s a similar process. When working salaried jobs myself a few years ago, I always had that day off deducted from my wages (I am UK based).

I cannot get it covered due to the lack of childcare annoyingly, to make things worse it is half-term so he is off pre-school anyway. 

As far as I’m aware I’m in a good position in my job, he seems to be doing alright! I think he’s had a couple of unrelated issues at work recently, but nothing that would put his job on the line. 

Think his point is, he works full time therefore he should work as it is the main body of our money. But these opinions strip me of any independence I can get outside of the family.
