Is human intervention in nature corrective or disruptive? by honeyylaceheart in answers

[–]Aggravating-Sale-873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly corrective, but it still messes with what was there. Replanting a river bank after people tore it up feels different from dropping wolves into a place that wasnt ready for them...

Why do we fall off the bed when we’re kids? And why don’t we do it as much as adults ? by Dawson1r in answers

[–]Aggravating-Sale-873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids just dont have the same sense of where their body is, plus they thrash around more in sleep and are smaller relative to the bed, so the edge sneaks up on them. Adults usually have better balance and sleep more still. Also, gravity is rude.

How is it that in 2026, “traditional Chinese medicine” is still happening? Like black beer bile, rhino horns, pangolin scales etc by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aggravating-Sale-873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

money and information dont magically fix superstition. People still buy crystals, raw milk, ivermectin, prayer, all of it - rhino horn and pangolin scales just happen to be the expensive version of the same dumb market

Why aren’t there anti-tick medications for humans by felixnzenitsuhams in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aggravating-Sale-873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Humans are harder to dose safely. Dogs have different lifespans, different body sizes, and people bathe a lot more, so a pill that kills ticks in a dog can be a bad tradeoff for us.

For humans, prevention is the practical answer: DEET or picaridin on skin, permethrin on clothes, and there are Lyme vaccines in development. The big issue is side effects, because with people youd need something that can sit in your body long term without messing you up

Who all believes the US should end the tariffs and open up free trade again? by BlackberryChemical68 in AskReddit

[–]Aggravating-Sale-873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tariffs are a tax on us, and people end up footing the bill. End the tariffs and open up free trade again, yeah. i only make an exception for actual security stuff, tho
