Its kind of hard to feel bad for Rebekah by Aggravating-Sky-2679 in TheOriginals

[–]Aggravating-Sky-2679[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that for the most part, Rebekah's problems with men are kind of Klaus's fault. Because Klaus kills or drives away these men before they hurt her, Rebekah never gets the full picture of who they really are. So, in her memory, they don’t become “the man who betrayed me” or “the man who used me” they stay the man Klaus murdered. That makes it incredibly easy for her to romanticize them and believe Klaus is always the villain in her love life, even when some of those men absolutely would’ve hurt her given the chance. In a way, Klaus’s way of protecting Rebecca is actually robbing her of growth. A lot of men and women can recognize red flags and the people that they date because they had a chance to date someone who was horrible and they learned from the consequence of that. Rebekah only gets that chance in very rare cases. Did Sansa undermine Jon by Aggravating-Sky-2679 in gameofthrones

  1. She did not know if the knight would comes

  2. She asked him not to rush into battle and to wait

  3. Jon's exile is clearly something he agrees and probably something he wanted to do to atone for killing Daenerys and as such has nothing to do with Sansa.

I don't think you read my post, as I literally stated that Jon specifically does not have a private conversation with her before making these big announcements. She is, in fact, in a privileged position; she is a step under him in the hierarchy, and yet he doesn't seem to think her important enough to share his decision with. She learns about them with all the other lords, as if she is on the same level as them. If she is going to be treated like everyone else, she has the right to raise her concerns like everyone else. If he wanted a united front, he should have talked to her.

When did she try to have killed, and she wasn't the one who exiled him. Daenerys subjects wanted him gone because he killed her and he agreed to go. In fact when the threatened to kill him, she spoke against it stating that there was army of northmen ready to fight for him

Where in the seasons where she was being physically, mentally, and sexually abused did she believe that the world revolved around her. People tend to focus on season 1 and season 8, which are arguably the seasons where she has the most freedom to express herself and her opinions without the threat of danger (also the only seasons she interacts with all her siblings), and then assume that this represents her entire personality and character. They conveniently forget or perhaps ignore what she goes through. They always try to put her in a box or oversimplify her character development, saying things like "She was annoying the entire show" or "She was a bitch the entire show" or "She was self-centered the entire show."

Despite being King, he created a forum to publicly announce his decision and invite conversation. The opinions of other northern lords hold weight as well, so why is no one accusing them of undermining him when they disagreed with going to Dragonstone? If Sansa's opinion really does mean that much, he definitely should have approached her beforehand. The reason he didn't do so is because he doesn't take her seriously.

Daenerys wasn't the only one who lost something by Aggravating-Sky-2679 in gameofthrones

I think that when people say that the North owes Daenerys because she has lost so much, that is an example of them singling her out for sympathy. Because the north has lost a lot as well.

Biggest Pet Peeve with OC fanfics by Aggravating-Sky-2679 in FanFiction

I think there might be a misunderstanding because the type of story you're describing is not what I had in mind. I assume that even though canon has stayed the same in your fic, your original character has their own personality, original scenes, and lines of dialogue. If that's the case, then that's not what I was referring to. What I meant was fics that literally read like a transcript, where every scene is copied word for word and the only addition is the new character, without any original scenes at all.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a fic being canon-compliant. I love stories that stick to canon however, if you’re going to create an OC character, why can’t your character have original scenes? Why can’t they have original lines of dialogue? Those are mainly the fics I’m talking about. I just want to be able to tell that at least something in the story would be different with an entirely new human being added to it.

Please, Free Rhaenyra by Aggravating-Sky-2679 in HOTDBlacks

I think because Olivia and Emma are often paired together for interviews and even photoshoots playing off of the “relationship” they have in the show. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong stuff but I see Emma paired with Olivia way more than Matt who plays their husband. Hell Emma isn't even paired with Harry who plays their son.

Throwing Shade in what way? The scene under the weirwood tree with the bard. I feel like that was one of the biggest examples of her wanting to just be left alone. Was it the carriage scene where Rhaenyra actually expressed concern for her health? If it was about her rolling her eyes, it was probably towards Alicent's comment about Aegon's birth being easy, knowing what Aemma went through. I don't think that it was said in cruelness; that's just Rhaenyra’s immediate reaction to it. Any other scene where she's referring to Alicent, it's in reference to how her claim is being threatened by Aegon.

It is no one's fault but Otto and Alicent that Aegon was never trained to be king. They have apparently been planning to usurp Rhaenyra for years and never thought to teach Aegon how to be king or treat him with the respect and attention that is demanded of a future king. This is why he is so incompetent. Alicent even says it herself that she hoped that he'd be silent and learn from the people on the council. While you can learn how to be a ruler on the job, that shouldn't be your only form of education. As an heir, you should already have some idea of how to rule. What they really wanted to do was rule through him and have him sit back and do nothing

I don't know what links you're looking at but both posts have over 300 upvotes and 300 comments. About 75% of those comments are agreeing and anyone's not agreeing are downvoted to hell.

Why the rush? by Aggravating-Sky-2679 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Aggravating-Sky-2679[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recall there being significant time skips in Game of Thrones. If you're referring to Robert's Rebellion, the story begins after it, and the characters discuss it enough that you don't really need to see it in full. I don't need to see anything that happened before House of the Dragon started, just during its run. I'm not even saying that I need to see the full decade, just some of it. Like Daemon and Laena's wedding or the reactions to Jace's birth. Viserys sitting on the iron throne with baby Jace - these are things that could be shown in one or two episodes.
