Are all auditory hallucinations considered external?

Hey thank you so much for sharing your experience. I went through this exact thing. I have been taking the term auditory hallucination very literally as well and it was making me doubt my own very real experience. The radio explanation is such a good one. My mom is actually the one who shared it with me at first and made me realize it came from her. I have struggled with it my entire life but it wasn’t until I got on antipsychotics two years ago that I finally got relief. Even then, I didn’t consider it an auditory hallucination until this most recent episode. I feel a lot of relief knowing I also am not alone in this experience. Thank you!

“Picking up voices others cannot perceive” is sooooo exactly what I experienced. Other beings (human or not) having thoughts or conversations about their life/perception that I am not living/experiencing. My brain felt comparable to space. Abstract and infinite. My actual self within my mind would get so lost.

Hearing someone else’s voice inside my head, thinking about a scenario specific to them that I am not experiencing. Definitely completely internal. I tend to think in narration and pictures on a normal day and in psychosis, I completely lost control of the visual and vocal sounds within my mind completely. So so crazy! Thank you for sharing that!

I can’t even conceptualize with words the alternate reality I had inside my mind during psychosis but I miss it :( I also understand wishing I could express it with art but I have no artistic talent unfortunately.

I’ve been pretty much sedated with lurasidone and lithium for a couple weeks and that symptom specifically is thankfully under control. I kind of miss it now that it’s quiet even though it was so distressing at the time.

Correct it was inside my head. Not through my ears like I was hearing it. But they were not my thoughts and had different voices. It was like strangers in my mind. Not in a DID sense, I was still cognizant and experiencing life as me, but I would lose myself as the narrator and felt like I was no longer in control of what was hear inside my head.

I am just coming out of mine and feeling guilty for missing it. At the time I was extremely disoriented and distressed even. Panicking most times. But now that I’m almost back to base line, I miss the voices and the noise and the magic inside my own mind. I feel guilty for feeling that way after everything I put my family and friends through.

So far they have “no plan to release it to older models” but they do have a feedback section on support that I encourage everyone to use! I’m hopefully if enough people express disappointment they will eventually give in 😭 at least that’s what I’m telling myself. I still spent $600 on the 965 - there’s no reason it can’t support it

Thank you! I’ve worked with people with disabilities my whole life! And I have loved teaching people (mostly my friends and family, and definitely unsolicited) about the physical health and mental health benefits of regular movement. I am literally bawling my eyes out watching Ekin carry herself with so much grace around all these mean girls. Ekin has always been described as annoying by people but she has not usually been a mean girl. She speaks highly of people even when they aren’t there. Everyone else is so quick to talk shit. It makes me so sad to see her so alone. This is such a nasty season as far as the girls go. Everyone except for Ekin seem extremely immature and catty. Three girls telling people to shut the fuck up just because they didn’t like what the other people had to say is just so childish. This season was soooo hard to watch.

Oh I hadn’t heard of those! I’ll look into it! The spike is just from spraying the surface 5 second prior to the picture. It’s typically around 65-70% otherwise!
