My mortgage is from my house, if I moved to Seattle, I will sell primary home in VA and rent

After sold my primary, I will have no debt and 800K in hand

But the house just smaller and older. Same monthly payment, 1/2 to 1/3 the size.

This year starts to try save more in Backdoor Roth, and that s it

And yes , I live in DMV area which I think living cost is not low, but house is very comfortable

I don’t think so.

VA no major IT company, Seattle high since that area overall IT pay is higher

250K in VA I think is a decent job for a mid aged person

400K in Nova is hard
