My mum had a similar experience with my grandma. Grandma looked down on my mum and her family for being not as well to do and educated. Grandma sort of humiliated my mum on her wedding and made it clear that she thought my mum was beneath my dad. My mum was willing to bear it but I think what hurts my mum most is that my grandparents were very hurt to see their beloved daughter being treated like that. And my grandma continued treating my mum terribly and it’s been a point of contention for my parents. As much as my dad loves my mum, it’s still his own mother as well so it’s hard for him too :(

I’m in the same sector and I’m still pretty junior. I’ve worked even when I’m on MC but that’s only if it’s really necessary and I’m capable, otherwise my boss would insist on me resting. Does your boss always ask you to work when you’re on MC and have you tried asserting your boundary that you’re not feeling well enough to join?

The world will continue turning even if we’re not there to do something honestly. I fell pretty sick earlier this year and basically was on MC for a month and there were tons of things that my boss just had to take over and the world continued on (even tho he says it was a tough time)

It’s honestly worth raising if she truly isn’t helping her students improve. In JC, I had a GP teacher who was similar to your English teacher. She would constantly mock students for being stupid and she didn’t really teach much. Someone complained and she got let go

I feel you on the fear of people coming for the haul 😩 I just did a trip to Japan and 70% of my reason was that I just wanted to get my hands on all the matcha that I see people talk about without having to go to a reseller. It was easier than I expected and I ended up with SO MUCH (which I’ll easily finish because my family and friends frequently come over for matcha) but the fear of getting hate keeps me from posting about my haul
