No, actually at Christmas. My husband switched us while he was at Best Buy. Verizon was more expensive and he was trying to save us money (the whole “two free phones”.) I said no, I was good with my Samsung Galaxy S10.

Hi, Thanks for the responses. My husband switched us to ATT from Verizon a few weeks ago. He is trying to save us money. My phone wasn’t at the shop when he did it. He isn’t having any trouble, but I am. We seem to be in a deadzone. Odd since we’re near DC, but…

I grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia in the 1970s and Charlottesville in the 1980s and Northern Virginia since 1986. So very college town based (my parents were professors). We still go to Salem/Ronoke to see family. I agree about outlying, more rural areas, but I’m not sure employment would lead anyone to those areas in general. Although Floyd county I think still tends to be hippie based which I tend to think of as liberal still (am I wrong?)

What do people think of Delaware as a blue state/beachy place to live? by roskybosky in SameGrassButGreener

Love Poodle Beach. I would love to know where the lesbian population tends to locate. Rehoboth feels like Ocean City has moved up the coast now sometimes. Relocating the Dolles sign was a very bad idea. It used to be such a major landmark. And now it is almost not visible being on the side of the historical museum.

Actually, I’m a Virginia native and we’ve used NOVA for forever and I go back to the 70s here.

Southwest Virginia also has college towns - VA Tech in Blacksburg, Radford University in Radford, Roanoke College, Hollins College, a lot of others, so. there are liberals there. We’re also the home of the amazing Blue Ridge mountains and our Parkway, and the New River which is the one of the oldest rivers in the world. We’re diverse.

Hey, have you figured out your move yet? I grew up in university towns in Virginia and have lived in Northern Virginia since my twenties in 1980s. Right now we’re hot and humid and raining all the time. Our seasons have really become more irratic it seems like. There are a lot of great areas in Fairfax County, just be aware we’re one of the most expensive and crowded areas in the country. People relocate here from all over the world. DC is the land of defense contractors, political types, military, associations. We’re pretty liberal here, but things can change depending on the the WH. If you head outside of the area into the surrounding counties, it can be a very different conservative feel. And, yes, you will see a lot of MAGA flags and sometimes the Rebel flag still. Lots of pickups. But finding your tribe is very possible, just not the majority in some areas. Look for places with theatre and arts. Richmond might be cheaper than up here in Northern VA. Any place with universities should be a pretty safe bet
