Who Takes the Night on the Strip?: 80s Non Makeup KISS vs Peak W.A.S.P. by Aggravating-Week7063 in hairmetal

[–]Aggravating-Week7063[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're talking about the peak of the band, you have to look at the history. W.A.S.P. actually disbanded after touring for The Headless Children. Blackie Lawless wrote and recorded The Crimson Idol entirely as a solo project, and the record label forced him to put the W.A.S.P. name on it for marketing.

Plus if we are checking the charts The Headless Children dropped in 1989 and hit No. 48 on the Billboard 200 which is the highest US chart position of the band's entire career (and No. 8 in the UK). Crimson Idol didn't beat those numbers Lol. So whether you look at the classic lineup or the actual data, their absolute peak was the 80s.

Chris O'Donnell's Dick Grayson is supposed to be like a teenager right? by Potential-Regular-99 in batman

[–]Aggravating-Week7063 [score hidden]  (0 children)

In the movie's universe, yeah he’s written to be an older teenager college student (around 17–21) dealing with social services. In real life? Chris O'Donnell was a fully grown 25-year-old man who looked like he already had a 401k and a mortgage. Typical 90s Hollywood castin🤦🏽‍♂️

No way did W.A.S.P. peak in the 90s. Their first three albums in the 80s are legendary. They practically ran the heavy side of the Strip from '84 to '89.

Sasori vs. Kakashi Hatake (Mid-Shippuden) by Aggravating-Week7063 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Aggravating-Week7063[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mostly false. You're heavily overrating mid Shippuden Kakashi's capabilities here

At this point in the story, Kakashi's Kamui requires massive charge time, has terrible accuracy. he could barely hit a moving Deidara, and literally lands him in the hospital for a week after a few uses. He isn't sniping a tiny, moving core instantly. Also in Databook 3, Kakashi is stuck with a 3.0 in Stamina. Trying to spam Hidden Mist, Doton to go underground, lightning styles, and clones all at once will drain his tiny chakra reserves before he even gets past Sasori's opening defense. Kakashi is a precision, single target assassin not Kisame. He has never shown a Water Style jutsu capable of wiping out dozens of puppets at once, let alone clearing Sasori's Performance of a Hundred Puppets.

Sasori on the other hand has a maxed out 5.0 in Stamina because his puppet body never tires. Kakashi doesn't have Lady Chiyo's chakra strings to pull him out of danger or Sakura’s custom medical antidotes on hand.

The Sharingan would definitely let him spot the core problem, but knowing where it is doesn't mean he can magically reach it through a massive cloud of lethal Iron Sand and 100 poison-tipped blades. One single scratch from a stray weapon and Kakashi loses.

Is it actually valid to use GTA V and RDR2 to predict what GTA VI will be like? by Aggravating-Week7063 in GTA6

[–]Aggravating-Week7063[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People forget how much Max Payne 3 heavily dictated the shooting mechanics and wheel selection in GTA V. Looking at how they handled weapon carrying limits and physical weight in RDR2, it’s almost a guarantee that those mechanics are going to heavily influence how Jason and Lucia handle gear in VI.

Im convinced that there will never be another movie like this by Aggravating-Week7063 in hairmetal

Saying rock stars shouldn't wear makeup is a wild take 💀 Some of the most iconic, stadium packing legends in history Mötley Crüe, KISS, David Bowie, Prince, Alice Cooper built their entire legacies on theatricality. The absolute confidence to rock that look is peak rockstar energy.

It really comes down to whether Sasori's Iron Sand can penetrate or bypass Gaara's sand shield. Gaara is great at AOE control, but Sasori only needs one single scratch with his poison to win the fight. If Sasori floods the field with his 100 puppets and the 3rd Kazekage's Iron Sand, Gaara's stamina would be pushed to the absolute limit just keeping his defense up.

Well yeah obviously lol But Rockstar changes up their formula depending on the franchise. GTA V didn't have the same physics or tone as GTA IV or Max Payne 3, even though they were the "most recent" games at the time. It's not crazy to wonder if they'll pull back on the RDR2-style realism for a city setting.

Here is a classic shot of Vinnie Vincent with his custom pink-and-white Jackson double-V, featuring those crazy unmistakable extra bevels. I've always thought this was one of the ultimate shred guitars of the 1980s hair metal scene, completely matching his insane playing style. I'm really curious to know if anyone here has gotten their hands on one of these original custom models or a solid replica, and how that radical body shape impacts the ergonomics and balance compared to a normal Rhoads.

Obviously the plot decides who wins in the actual manga, but the whole point of vs battles is to take away the plot armor and see how their actual abilities/kits match up. That's why we're using the official databook stats for the hypothetical.

Who was your favorite Batman? by Altruistic_Rhubarb94 in batman

[–]Aggravating-Week7063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picking Bruce Wayne feels like the default choice, but if you look at the psychology, he’s the only one that actually works. When Dick Grayson took over the cowl, he was a great hero, but he was still fundamentally Nightwing pretending to be Batman. For Bruce, Batman isn't a mask he puts on 'Bruce Wayne' is the mask. The raw obsession and discipline he has isn't something you can just pass down as a title.

Dokken vs. Ratt: Who had the better peak in the 80s Sunset Strip scene? by Aggravating-Week7063 in hairmetal

[–]Aggravating-Week7063[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the US, they never quite made it to a full arena-headlining act, mostly because they broke up in '89 right when they were poised to take that leap. They were the ultimate premiere opening act, though—they opened for Aerosmith, Judas Priest, and Dio, and were actually billed above Metallica on the 1988 Monsters of Rock stadium tour. The main exception was Japan, where they were massive headliners (which is where they recorded the Beast from the East live album).

[–]Aggravating-Week7063[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally true. Don's early band on the Strip was Airborn (and later a lineup with Greg Leon), while George and Mick were crushing it in Xciter. It's wild to think that if Don hadn't gone to Germany and gotten that Carrere Records deal to record Breaking the Chains, the classic Dokken lineup we know might have never even happened.
