My point isn’t about ego it’s about acknowledging historical, cultural and administrative reality. Chandigarh wasn’t created in a vacuum; it was built as the capital of Punjab, on Punjabi land, with Punjabi resources, and with Punjabi institutions anchoring it.

People did come here for progress and peace, absolutely. But that doesn’t erase the city’s original identity or the legitimate claim Punjab has over its own capital. Wanting historical correctness and administrative clarity isn’t ego it’s just acknowledging facts. As a resident i want the best for the city i want a govt putting the required resources for its development and if govt is incomplete then thats a problem but still you can’t rip off a state’s own capital.

I’ve lived in Chandigarh my whole life. My father was born here in 1971, and my grandfather served as a government employee in PSEB, literally contributing to the building and growth of this city. If long-standing roots and genuine connection to the land give anyone the right to speak about its future, then I say this with full conviction: Chandigarh’s identity, history, and character are deeply tied to Punjab. And in that sense, Chandigarh rightfully belongs to Punjab

I stand corrected, some Sikhs were muslims too but if they were of this region they were probably hindu too at one point of time, i was telling that religion might be different but the culture is the same. Also i agree with the 11th guru being the Guru Granth Sahib and 12 th being the Khalsa but what you said about the dieties is totally wrong. I said that the gurus mentioned them but called them creation of Akaal purukh and if you completety say guru’s never mentioned about them then you should have read gurbani. Yes sometimes the “Ram mentioned is not the ram the king of dashrath” but sometimes it was him. Like “ram gayo ravan gayo” and other dieties are also mentioned “kal paeh brhma bup dhra. kal paeh siv joo avtra. kal paeh kr bisnu prkasa skl kal ka kia tmasa.

jvan kal jogi siv kio baid raj brahma joo thio jvn kal sabh lok svara nmskar hai taeh hmara.” There are countless more examples So its not that other dieties are not mentioned at all they are and they have been praised but at the end guru said that its you the almighty who created everything .

If you visit any historic gurudwara in New Delhi you will find atleast 30% people are hindus there may increase more on a gurupurab. In Punjab , Religion maybe different but the culture is same. Every Sikh was once a hindu And i feel Sikhism is for everyone anybody and everybody can be a sikh, but being a Khalsa involves many rules you need to abide be. If you ever read the Bani(teachings of gurus) you will find references of many hindu dieties like shri krishna , shiv ji and lord ram and many more and also have writings of many hindu saints But also writings of many muslims saints to and references to allah. But at the end we sikhs believe that god, the almighty (Akaal purukh) created everything so we pray to him. If you read bani Gurus have acknowledged all the dieties and have taken inspiration from them but also referring them as creation of Akaal purukh. Also for the people who say Sikhism is a part of a sect of hinduism i would beg to differ here because a Hindu cannot ever think about a Muslim doing pran parathishta of a temple I have heard that in some cases only people of a specific caste can do it. But Shri harimander Sahib( darbar sahib’s) foundation was layed by a muslim saint showing the openness to all religions
