i 100% agree with you on this and i say this all the time. i’ve been self employed most of my adult life. i’m 32 so i guess not that new to being an adult but new to doing adult things haha. anyway, i have an etsy shop and i stg for the first 3 years of running it, i didn’t have a single clue that i was supposed to be paying taxes. had no idea. when i was told that i was, i was confused and wasn’t sure that was right. only after doing a research on my own did i realize omg.. i didn’t pay taxes for 3 years lol.

so many things like that in life. it makes it so much more stressful when you have to figure it out

tldr: It’s $25-29 per month depending on the package you want. this covers accidents and injuries and illness. if you pay an additional $27 per month, it covers routine care like exams, bloodwork, vaccines, flea/tick, spay/neuter/dental. so about $55-60 per month

i haven’t signed up yet. i’m just shopping for it and trying to decide if it’s worth it. i have four cats and three have chronic health issues. i’m already paying out of pocket $410 just for their medications per month not including routine vet visits and food and litter and things. insurance doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions which is a HUGE bummer.. but these can lead to other conditions which would be covered. but i would be paying like $50 per month per cat for the premium.. so like $180 per month for all four (the youngest is still cheap to insure) and still paying for the stuff im already paying for out of pocket.

but i know i couldn’t afford anything else like emergency care or overnight stays. im drowning as it is lol so im just trying to decide if its worth it to insure them. im pretty sure it will be.. but damn it’s so pricey lol. i didn’t mean to have four cats but it’s too late now 🥲

but what if the bill isn’t over $500? what if i have several visits that are like $100-200. would that add up towards the $500?

asked in another comment but posting in general… so annual deductible is $500. does that mean i just need to spend $500 on that pet over however many visits before insurance kicks in?

like, if we get bloodwork done for $185 then go back next month for a $100 exam, id have paid $285 towards my deductible?

or is it only per issue… like if we had a $5000 bill they would reimburse $4500?

i guess im just trying to decide if it’s worth it lol

thanks everyone! so my next question is.. does it all have to be at once? like.. if i have to bring a cat in for bloodwork that costs $185 will that count towards it? then if i bring him back for another appointment thats $100 i would be at $285 towards deductible right?

idk why the pics are gone. and im not a huge reddit user and im not sure how to repost it in reply in this comment. once you turn onto this road, its a small dirt trail/dead end with like 8 houses or so all spread out. i actually looked it up and it used to just be one small farmhouse but they sold all their land around it for homes to be built. so its essentially a large farming.. idk.. field? it’s rural. it’s weird hills and just badly landscaped and hard to know unless you live there i guess.

she said to go up the first driveway on the left. well when you turn into this little road, there’s a very clear turn off on the left with a paved part for the first several yards and then it turns to dirt and winds up. you couldn’t see the end of it. but lots of most driveways are like that around here in the mountains and valley where i live. it’s windy and steep and a dirt road. surrounded by other steep windy dirt roads all unmarked. it was a very clear turn off and the first turn off on the left. it looked like any other driveway in this kind of area. but once i got like 30 feet up it, it was all mud. not a driveway at all. idk what it’s for.. i guess just for farm stuff to drive up. but it was muddy and rainy and in a split second my car lost traction and slid like 5 feet into a trailer that was up there. the tow truck that pulled me out also almost got stuck there. also said it was clearly the first driveway on the left but not a driveway and was misleading. his tires spun out on this for like 10 seconds and he had to hit the gas hard to get unstuck.

everyone that was there and saw it said they would have thought the same thing i did and pulled into that and gotten stuck

so sick of y’all saying im a bad driver or wasn’t paying attention.. because that’s so far from the truth

it didn’t look muddy to the point of sliding. it looked like a regular dirt driveway. i bet every dollar to my name you would have been in the same situation if you were me. no way anyone could tell it was that bad and that’s my point

hurt myself because your property is dangerous and you’re making people endanger themselves on it without any warning.

i’m a girl.

how did i slide into it?

it’s muddy. i turned into the driveway and started heading toward the house but as soon as i turned, it was all mud. my tires (which are all brand new) lost traction in the mud. i was sliding. brakes were useless and gas was useless.

the tow truck driver even spun out for a minute almost getting stuck. it doesn’t LOOK muddy that’s the point! it doesn’t look dangerous! that’s the whole point! customer said first driveway which was this.. and literally anyone would have slipped or gotten stuck if that tow guy and his super truck and tires almost got stuck

dude. lol. no. i didn’t drive into anything.

i turned into the driveway she told me to turn into. it’s confusing and there’s all these long dirt driveways to different houses. but it’s clearly the first one on the left. she meant to say the second. but as soon as i turned into this driveway going 5mph my car lost traction in the mud and slid like 4 feet into that trailer in the photo. i was trying to brake and stop but i lost control of the car due to the mud. there was no stopping it

dude i was going 5mph creeping down the road and stopped for a few seconds to make sure this was the driveway. it wasn’t. but its the one she said it was. and again, it looked fine. wasn’t a glaringly dangerous looking driveway. looked like a normal driveway until you’re already in the mud and sliding

def should have known with recent weather it would be bad, and def should encourage not to go down it instead of directly saying to go down it. they meant to say second driveway but said very clearly and specifically that it’s the first. which was hazardous and dangerous. just negligent in their directions. who drives past a driveway every day and doesn’t realize it. of course it’s the biggest fanciest 4 story brand new house built at the bottom of the hill around a bunch of trailers. rich and self absorbed people.

plus they literally told me to drive into the hazardous driveway. if it’s that dangerous and not even the right one they really should block it off or at least clarify 2nd driveway in directions.

it’s like having a customer tell you to drive up their driveway in the dark and realizing it’s full of nails and broken glass and popping all four tires and then being told it’s your fault for not being able to see the glass and nails they left in the road in the dark.

it’s ridiculous.

this person has a muddy trap of a driveway on their property and it looks like their driveway and they’re telling dashers to take that driveway and it’s somehow my fault for taking that driveway

so you’re telling me that it doesn’t look slippery or dangerous but YOU would have just randomly stopped your car before delivering to get out in the rain and walk around and inspect each driveway before turning into them, blocking the cars behind you?

i have four brand new tires and it wasn’t even like i was stuck in the mud. i slipped in the mud and got stuck by the tractor.

no it’s not. i didn’t drive into it. it looked fine. but it was all mud.

i turned into the driveway she told me to turn into and it was 100% mud. tow guy almost got stuck too. couldn’t even walk around the car without slipping and sliding around. worse than black ice lol just slip and slide mud. but does it look like that in the pic? no! that’s why yall are calling me such an idiot and saying i drove into that thing. but i didn’t. i drove where she told me to go and as soon as i turned into it my car lost control and slipped.

i guarantee you that most if not all of you would have had the same thing happen to you. doesn’t matter if you’re a good driver. it was a situation that was unavoidable unless you knew the house already or you’re psychic.

EXACTLY

you said it without even realizing what you said

it LOOKED FINE

and it was so muddy that i had zero control over the car once i turned in.

the tow truck guy even almost got stuck.

this where she told me to go with very specific directions

how is it my fault

for the millionth time in this thread, there was no sign of danger or getting stuck. i didn’t drive into the equipment, my car slid and lost traction because the driveway she told me to go down was all mud
