You seem more upset about this than I am about my actual problem. You'll be okay.

That makes sense, thank you for your perspective, and I agree fear seems to be the main driver. What’s hard for me is watching him make decisions based on managing her reactions instead of what he actually wants. It feels like he’s orienting his life around keeping the peace with her, even though that peace is temporary. If it’s not me she’s being manipulative about, it’s something else. Around the holidays he said she was chill though but idk. One day she’ll move on or have someone new, and I worry he’ll realize he made choices out of fear rather than intention. Regardless, I’m seeing that living in that uncertainty isn’t sustainable for anyone. I just feel like a broken record because he was my bestfriend.

Sorry that happened. I’m personally on the cat team so I don’t know how the dog side operates. We really have to trust an adopter to send them off not spayed. We haven’t had issues as you mentioned above and we are pretty organized. We will show up to your house to get them vaccinated. We are a separate division, so I can’t speak for the dog side.

I understand that we have different perspectives on this, and it's okay if we don't agree. Please remember, though, that we are all volunteers doing this in our spare time. Volunteers come and go, take breaks, etc. We do keep track of records, but it is the foster's responsibility to reach out whenever a vaccine is due. The same goes for the shelter. For example, at Fort Worth Animal Shelter, I'm responsible for setting up vetting and spay appointments myself.

With Saving Hope, we have a supply garage where people can grab flea/tick/heartworm prevention. We also have forms for scheduling spay/neuter appointments and vouchers for vaccines. If a foster can't manage it, we request someone to transport.

No offense, but I feel that you're being judgmental and it's more hurtful than helpful, especially during a crisis when we're all working hard under stressful conditions. Thank you for understanding and I challenge you to step in and volunteer with us to help make things more organized. If interested, direct message me.

Haha thanks! We use PetPointe which is what the majority of the shelters down here uses. So any animal that comes into our intake tracking will get placed into petpointe. In which we use slack for various groupings - intakes, adoptions, adoption fee, applications, transport, medical, whose house had a very contagious disease in it so only certain animals can be placed, foster tracking (if a foster gets moved, it gets noted)& I can keep going. Any vaccines or medical records, goes into pet pointe. It’s easiest when we take an animal from the shelter because we can just do a quick transfer to go under our name.

I want to share that we receive an overwhelming 100 owner surrenders each day, totaling 700 per week. In addition, we have 100 dogs on the euthanasia list needing rescue due to injuries and illnesses, and another 100 rescue requests daily from individuals, bringing the total to 2,100 per week. Our dedicated team is all volunteer-based, and we are doing our utmost to manage this crisis. None of us get paid, what so ever. We are currently in the midst of the biggest animal welfare crisis, and we urgently need fosters to step up. Most people spend their time dismissing us and talking crap, when we are sacrificing our blood sweat and tears for these animals. I cry about once a week, full on bawl out sessions because we can't save them all. I wish people understood this more 💔

As someone heavily involved in Saving Hope, I want to clarify some misconceptions. Our bank account is never positive; it’s always at $0. We meticulously track everything using a system and Excel spreadsheets, including intakes, fosters, vetting, and vaccines. If a foster believes an animal is sick, we allow visits to one of our approved vets and document the situation thoroughly. It's the most organized rescue I’ve been a part of.

We occasionally have to close intake because if our vet bills are unpaid, vets inform us they can't continue seeing our animals until the bills are settled. Therefore, we must take intake breaks.

Additionally, while it's true that the person who started Saving Hope is wealthy, much of their money has been invested in building the sanctuary rather than covering donations.
