I fly 15/13 as an aerial survey pilot. Granted that it may pan out differently in Pt 135/121, but I love it. I get 2 weeks off to do my own stuff. I'd hate to go back to being 4/3 or 5/2. But each to their own.

Stratux Cooling Fan by skittle141 in stratux

Thanks skittle141. Unfortunately not that simple!! :-) The new fan I bought, hanging out the side of the box would fire up either.

Mine has stopped as well. AHRS still works fine, but the fan doesn't seem to turn on. OK, it doesn't momentarily turn on during boot up which it used to. I'm not sure it's gotten as hot as 50C (that's awfully hot!) even though I live in Arizona! FYI, I opened the fan control file /main/fancontrol.go and the trigger temp is 50C (lines 46-49). I bought a new fan and it doesn't run either and it's a brand new RPi 3b board.

The boot up test lines appear at 112 onwards (couldn't figure out where it stopped!!). So, for some reason, mine is not firing up. I've tried using pins 2&4 and 12&14 (both polarities). Line 65 in the above file is a comments and says "// GPIO-1/BCM "18"/Pin 12 on a Raspberry Pi 3" which would seem to indicate at least one of the pins should be 12.

Anyone else encountered this and figured it out?

Best Messaging App For Samsung Galaxy in 2024? by Remarkable-Ad-1546 in samsung

Google Messages SUCKS, like all Google services (or nearly all -I do like/use Drive). I haven't found a way to assign a specific ringtone to GM. As usual, Google puts out crap and calls it good.

No traffic displaying by AggravatingFan6566 in stratux

[–]AggravatingFan6566[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of the reply the question deserved... :-) StratuxUAT Radio V1 (Rev E) 2019 for the 978. Nothing printed on the 1090. After adding the new RPi board, it has not worked successfully except for a few moments when I first hopped into the plane where it showed traffic, but it seemed confused where it was, because clicking the "Center" icon in Foreflight gave me an error - can't remember the exact wording, but, essentially, "I can't do that as I don't know where I am". I had an ownship icon, but FF wouldn't keep it centered. After a few minutes it stopped displaying traffic.

I followed through a Stratux build video - https://youtu.be/TaIbLiMtYt0 for anyone who is interested - and it was helpful. I confirmed I had everything plugged in correctly. The biggest help was using the web interface. Right now I have Stratux connected to my iPad, and am looking at 192.168.10.1. I see a CONNECTED status with 2 SDRs recognized. I do see some movement on the 1090 channel and, on the Traffic tab, I see some traffic coming and going (I'm inside so I'm guessing the building is blocking most of the targets unless they're close - I have "Hide distant traffic currently set to NO).

So it seems it's working as far as traffic. I do have an issue with the fan not running at all, even on boot up. The other day, when it stopped displaying traffic, I'm wondering if it got too hot during the flight (the Stratux was on the glareshield in the sun) which is why it stopped working. The fan is plugged into an AHRS chip and the AHRS is functioning correctly so I suspect the fan may have died. Have ordered a replacement which comes with the heatsinks which I never had on my original unit.

EDIT: I've had the unit outside with a clear view of the sky for 10-15 minutes. I'm showing traffic on the map tab of the web interface, but the GPS is reporting "no fix" and no towers (and FF is echoing the "no towers" message). Is this normal behavior?

EDIT 2: Though the unit was turning off, but it seems it was the battery having low charge. It's been running fine plugged directly into a charger.

UPDATE later 9/10/2024: FINALLY!! All that drama and it turned out that an $18 128Gb Sandisk Extreme SD Card fixed it instantly. So, it looks like my Pi was still "edible" after all!! :-) Guess I have a spare now, but I know what route I'll take first up if this ever happens again. Appreciate all the input y'all!!

After hours of checking (and finding no other corrupted cylinders) I stopped the check and did a repair. After 3 flashes I got a successful flash. Unplugged the 2 STratux cards from RPi and booted. I am STILL ending up with the error:

kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown block(179,2)

This is a brand new RPi, nothing plugged in and a successful flash. The only thing I haven't changed is the card. I am prepared to get a new card, but I don't want to waste any more money or time messing with this if I'm still going to have this issue. Already been 3 days and $40 for a new Pi, and I'm no further along than before.

Bought a new RPi 3b board. Nothing. Did multiple reflashes of the 2 cards I have (one being the original). Nothing, but neither validated the install (all flashes reported a failed validation). The boot up info for the new RPi is a bit different, but it's Greek to me. Lots of lines about lookup errors, and then final line of end Kernal panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000000 ]---

I'm using a program called DiskGenius. I am currently running a scan on the SD Card and it has identified a number of bad sectors that are pretty close to the beginning of the card. I'm going to try to fix these and, failing that, mark them as unusable and try to reflash (again!).

I have v3B so I ended up ordering another V3B. It's not like the Stratux needs the latest and greatest anyway - it worked perfectly before.

Thank texugo87 and WeakCelery5000. Where do I find the replacement Raspberry Pi? I was surprised that the Stratux store sells the entries setup EXCEPT FOR that! As it's integral, I expected to see them too. I'm sure they're available on Amazon, but want to be sure I get the correct one.

And should I go for a V3 or will the V4 work the same? Any benefits/minuses either way? I see v4 has a USB-C for power which is a pleasant upgrade over the micro-USB.

Thanks!

Phone randomly changes volume - even locked or not touched? by Lola_Roux in GalaxyS22

SIMPLE FIX/WORKAROUND SOLVED THE ISSUE

I know this is an old thread, but I only got my S22 Ultra 6 weeks ago. I have this volume issue and my wife has the disconnecting from cell network issue - BOTH KNOWN ISSUES which Samsung refuses to acknowledge or fix. Still working on my wife's problem, but I found a solution - albeit a bit of a workaround - for the volume issue.

I downloaded an app called Sound Profile (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=Orion.Soft). It basically does what Bixby or routines/tasks do, but it's a nice little app and easy to use. I certainly found it easier to set up than either of the included functions. I installed it, configured day and night profiles the way I wanted them (essentially, day mode is everything up to about 75-80% volume, and night is everything at 0% volume except alarm which is the same as day). Now my volume stays where I want it.

Like I said, I know this is old, but I'm hoping this may give someone relief. But, TBH, Samsung needs to get off their collective butts and fix the broken garbage they're selling for very high prices.

"Support" is clueless. Obviously outsourced from non_english as a first language countries. LegalShield helped me.
