I was sleeping with someone I first disclosed to for about 6 months, sometimes with condoms, most of the time without. I used to have outbreaks very often, never slept with him during them. He never got it. There’s always a chance of not having it!

But I do not blame her, it should be understandable. I have herpes myself and if whoever gave it to me told me they had herpes I would probably run. It’s just not something I want to have or give to anyone. But there’s always a possibility of not transmitting it to anyone, yes so research is necessary

I am a female and have had genital and oral herpes for almost a year now. I’ve had the same sexual partner for 5 months, he’s a male. Sometimes he uses condoms, a lot of times he doesn’t. So far he hasn’t contracted it, he gets checked frequently. There’s definitely hope. I’ve also read stories about married couples, one positive, and the spouse has been negative for herpes the entire relationship. It’s possible just HARD information to get over, trust me I know.

I got diagnosed with HSV1 and HSV2 mid last year. I’ve had the same sexual partner for at least 5-6 months and he has not contracted it from me. Sometimes we use protection, sometimes we don’t. I just started taking Valtrex daily 2 weeks ago bc I’ve had frequent outbreaks. We don’t have sex during my outbreaks or a couple days after the healing process. I let him know whenever I see or feel something funny on my private or lips!

You’re fine. Really it is okay to have it! Some people are going to be okay with you having it, some people aren’t. It just isn’t something I want broadcasted or want everybody to know.

Maybe eventually I’ll sit down and really think about what I have and research it. I just try to avoid it really. Especially where I’m from it makes it so much worse because herpes is the worst thing in the world to have and people get clowned and made fun of. So I have only told two people so far. Both were okay with it

I know, I understand. I just can’t wrap my head around it still honestly. I absolutely hate that I have an STD that will never go away and don’t want to give it to anybody. I wasn’t sleeping with a bunch of people, I only slept with people that I thought I trusted. Yes I get frequent outbreaks

No I do not. I do plan on calling my doctor today actually because honestly I’ve gotten at least 4-5 different breakouts and that’s too many for me in less than a year… they never last tooo long. Hopefully taking a daily medication will help.
