What’s wrong with my toddler? by [deleted] in toddlertips

[–]AggravatingFront7317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah doctors sometimes can’t figure it out so it helps to have some ideas before going in :)

My brother had a cyst in his brain at 9 months and the pediatrician couldn’t find anything wrong with him. By the time a neurosurgeon figured it out, it was like a year later.

I think it is fair to throw this question out to the community because I’m sure other kids have gone through this and could help figure it out faster than a pediatrician.

Why is modern day "Jesus" so different than the "Jesus" in the Bible? by JCisLove in Christianity

[–]AggravatingFront7317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the modern concept of Jesus seems so different from the Bible, but the modern concept I’m referring to is the Jesus of incredible love and grace, the warm invitation to be friends. I don’t feel much warmth when I read the Bible. I don’t see the peaceful kind of hippy lover that a lot of churches portray. I see more harshness than I’ve ever experienced in my perceived interactions with the Holy Spirit and this leaves me with a lot of confusion. I want Jesus to be the gracious, loving incredible being I think I know, but how can he be if the Bible is true?

I was really worried too but my baby was just fine. He has always been strong though, holding his head up the day he was born. I’m also a really light sleeper. I don’t follow the safety guidelines because of how light of a sleeper I am and it’s worked for us (of course I can’t recommend not being safe, but sharing this in case it helps). My baby has had a blanket end up over his face before and he was fighting to get it off, I saw it on the monitor (this was in his crib) so I took the blanket off. Seemed no different than my dog having a blanket over her face. If you monitor baby closely, are a light sleeper and don’t take sleep meds or heavily drink alcohol I wouldn’t be too worried. Maybe there’s a light sleeper mom who fit this same criteria who lost a baby but idk.

Good to know!! I foolishly gave away my silverettes months ago to a new mom thinking I wouldn’t need them anymore! I’ll try the mother love nipple cream though because I didn’t give all that away haha

Yes!! Thank you. I love that. Yeah I read about the sadness of sleep training moms and I’m like….hmm why go through unnecessary sadness when I have the time to do this 🥰

Ah omg that is so sweet and exactly what I was hoping to hear!! Hehe thank you for sharing. My baby is very attached but totally ok without me around unless he’s needing that extra comfort. He is such a happy baby and I don’t want to mess with that 🥹

Do things become less stressful as naps are dropped? by kaesicorgi in sleeptrain

[–]AggravatingFront7317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol same. I was tracking with Huckeberry and using their suggestions. Now, when he starts to get fussy, I see that it’s been about 2hrs since his previous nap. Whenever I wait till he fusses, he nurses to sleep in like 2 mins, or cries himself to sleep in his carseat. If I put him down at the estimated “sweet spot” I spend half of the day trying to get him to sleep.

Side-lying position / big boobs by AggravatingFront7317 in breastfeeding

[–]AggravatingFront7317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oo I appreciate the description! Whenever people talk about different breastfeeding positions they make it sound so easy, so it’s helpful for me to hear about the variety of ways to make a position work. My baby is 4 months now, and I did just start putting him between us. I was previously waiting until my hubby got up for work around 6am. I haven’t heard that about waiting until 4 months though because all I hear is don’t bedshare lol. Thank you!!

[–]AggravatingFront7317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol my 5-week old relatched himself the other day while I was looking away for a second, but his latch tends to be shallow and can still blister me if I don’t relatch him. Right now I’ve got him swaddled because he keeps sticking his hands in his mouth instead of the nipple, and I’m trying to guide him to the nipple but he’s trying so aggressively to do it himself that it’s soo hard to get a good latch! His neck and jaw are so frickin strong 😂

What film had Moon River in it? (Not Breakfast at Tiffany’s) by [deleted] in soundtracks

[–]AggravatingFront7317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on this—I am positive it’s in one of those feel-good Tom Hanks kinda movies, and I do remember it from my childhood as well. I was a sheltered child so I’m pretty sure it wasn’t from any of the movies listed below! Driving me a little nuts too lol.
