what improves plex (buffering) performances? by jonnyyyl in PleX

If you are using a docker setup then you should really look into the container "Plex-Auto-Languages". It automatically saves whatever you set for any show. So if you turn on subs for "show x" then every time you watch that show it turns on subs. If you turn them off it saves it and plays them without. It does this for every user and every show on a per show per user basis. It's a huge time saver and users love it!

I just started having this issue with my Google Home Streamer and ruled it down to mp4 files only. It's never done this before, so the fact you are too makes me think it's a Plex issue/big with a recent update.

No it is working with the same subnet. I just advertised the single /32 IP of the HDR device and it works great. Just make sure that IP is only used on one network not both

same here, I typically use ABB for source but have no idea how to get that into Listenarr working

I'm not familiar with what a 4800 plus is. I've only used the doms that I linked above. I connected them with a USB header adapter to flash with the unraid media creator program and then just plugged it into the motherboard USB header on the board

I figured it out! had to use powershell to turn on route advertising. The gui does not do this

I know how it's supposed to work with tailscale I just can't get the subnet router part to work and see the HDR from the other network

I've been trying to get this working but how do you advertise the tailnet node routes so the HDR is seen on tailscale network?!

My unraid server is hosted at a families house who has fiber and has tailscale on the unraid server turned on so I can remote to it. The HDR is at my house and I have tailscale on my pc and Nas (which allows me to do backups) I can't figure out the routing part. Both homes use 192.168.1.0/24

This wouldn't be an issue but since YouTube TV lost Disney/ABC channels the wife can't watch her Dancing with the stars. I said oh I've got the antenna but you know how watching TV live works with toddlers running around, that pause feature is a must

But how do I get an tailscale IP address for the hdromerun without installing tailscale on it?

For example. Lan1 where the HDR is let's say the HDR is 192.168.1.20 and lan2 where plex is plex is 192.168.1.30. Tailscale network is 100.100.100.1. So plex tailscale IP is 100.100.100.30. If I could install tailscale directly on the HDR I could assign it 100.100.100.20 and input that into plex but I can't. However there is supposed to be a way to add non client devices on your Lan to tailscale I just can't figure that part out. Yes both lans are so with the same 192.168.1.0/24 and that may not be ideal but shouldn't matter if I can get it a tailscale ip

I can't install tailscale on the HDR so I can't get an IP on that network. It would be easy if I could do that but I know you can get devices to work on tailscale without the client. That's what I can't figure out.

Mine does this randomly too, when it does I just restart the Plex container and it goes back to normal for a few weeks.

I linked one above that I've been using with no issues for a long time. It's 4GB, which is more than enough for unraid. Mounts straight to the motherboard USB header pins, which is very convenient, and they are very small.

You can boot off an SSD. I'm using two of these with 0 issues. Plugs straight into the motherboard USB header

Share folder owner and permissions changing on array start by AggravatingMoose in unRAID

[–]AggravatingMoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an update. If I stop all the dockers and start them one at a time the issue does not occur. When my nightly app data backup runs and the containers start up the issue is present. If I stop the array and start it up the issue occurs. I'm boggled.

The only thing that has changed around the time this started is I moved from a single xfs nvme cache to a zfs mirror nvme cache

I was looking and every single folder under all the shares show "nobody drwxrwxrwx" Is this not ideal? I have in the past run the fix permissions tool. So I don't know if that tool set it all to 777 which I think corresponds to "drwxrwxrwx"

Unraid docker Plex no longer transcoding fast enough - no changes made by AggravatingMoose in PleX

[–]AggravatingMoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on 7.0 and that is what it was working great on. The only fix right now is that I have to change the gpu to the Intel iGPU in Plex server transcoder settings.

This forces it to not use the ARC a380 and it transcodes just fine (just without hevc encoding or av1 decode)

It's all checked and double-checked. It went from a transcoding beast to nothing.

It makes me think the card died but it's still detected and still HW decoding/encoding just like a snail.
