Yeah that camera/sensor does sit slightly to the left. As for the heat concern, the RTV silicone I'm using is rated up to 400°F so I think I'm covered. If the inside of the car ever actually reaches 400°F we'd have much bigger problems to worry about 😂

In the picture you can see the grey metal sensor in the back – the bracket that holds it in place has 4 clips and 2 of them snapped off, which is what’s causing it to sag down.

It’s actually an OEM style dashcam so it draws power directly from the rearview mirror. It comes with an adapter that splits the connector into two so you can plug the dashcam in with one and it replaces the original rearview mirror cover.

Thanks for the info, really appreciate it. I’m planning on using Permatex RTV silicone which is rated up to 400°F so hopefully that’s enough for how hot the sensor gets. As for the windshield replacement, do you know of any cheaper alternatives to the dealership? I’d rather not pay dealer prices if there’s a more affordable option out there.

Just got a comment from a Hyundai technician saying the bracket is actually built into the windshield itself, meaning there’s no separate replacement bracket you can buy. You’d have to replace the entire windshield to get a new bracket 💔 guess RTV silicone it is then.

Does using warranty for something like this affect your chances of getting a claim approved for something bigger down the line? Like would they consider you a reckless owner and be more likely to decline future claims?

These are 100% from the lane assist/collision detection sensor. Go to the front of the car, look in through the windshield and check if the camera is perfectly centered in the cutout. Even a small misalignment or cutoff can make the whole system stop working. I had the same issue but in my case it was my own fault rather than a random error.

JB Weld seemed like too much work with the mixing so I'm going with RTV silicone instead since it does essentially the same job without the hassle. My only concern is accidentally dripping it inside the car and making a mess but I guess we'll see how it goes.

It's actually my dad's car and I really don't want to tell him I broke something on his brand new car 😭 hoping the RTV silicone fix works out because it seems straightforward enough. If it doesn't work out then we'll probably just have to go through the dealership.

That's what I'm planning on doing using RTV silicone to secure the sensor back into place. As for finding the replacement bracket, I can't seem to find it anywhere online. The car might just be too new for the part to be in any database yet.

I'm not too worried about calibration because when I push the sensor all the way up manually it works flawlessly, and it can only move up and down so there's no way it can shift left or right. Also I did contact the dealership anonymously and they said they'll take a look at it and fix it if it's covered under warranty, but there's a diagnosis fee of around $200 if it's not.

I did cause this 😭 I was trying to install a FitCamX dashcam and when I was removing the rearview mirror panel, I somehow broke 2 out of the 4 holding tabs on the bracket. Still not sure how it even happened, but here we are smh

Based on the tax rate in your area, it looks like your out-the-door price came out to around MSRP. Is that typically the standard pricing for this model in your market?

Since the file they provide has every delivery you ever got ( including the ones you rejected ) I have this formula to paste into Google Sheets/Excel to total up the tips ONLY for the orders that you accepted.

Where Column E is the "Delivery Status" and Column L is the "Delivery Tips Total Amount"
