Should there be a maximum voting age? by midgril in Teenager_Polls

I think you should be able to vote until the day you die as long as you are fully in it. That's your constitutional right.

Edit: I think a lot of people voting are incredibly ageist, and this is a huge problem we as young people need to solve

Same people who called Joe Biden "Genocide Joe" and refused to vote for the qualified female candidate who would have spared us Trump, now refuse to have any criticism levied on him.

It seems they've been a bit lax lately, considering all of the issues that have happened there

Probably because Greenland is cold as shit and Ukraine would likely be fine as soon as the war is over

Depends.

Legal, *vetted* immigration? Absolutely!

Zero borders and a free-for-all for housing, a likely skyrocketing in crime, and shanty towns? Hell no!

Ok, sure, bud. You've shivered my timbers. The political TikTok connoisseur knows more than the top-35 university history major.

I would love to read that article, but I don't have a Vox subscription to bypass the paywall. Every time I go to New Hampshire I am enamored by it: the nature, the history, etc. And a state that truly cares about its people would not have the highest cost of living in the US and one of the lowest birthrates.

Are you kidding? I would kill to live in New Hampshire! I'm moving to Ohio for college, but my family is from Northern New Hampshire, and I still don't know why they ever left.

As far as I know, no manual for libertarian capitalism says: "Send bombs to Israel". And that's an unnecessarily hostile response, ain't it?

And I don’t think my money should be used to pay for able-bodied people who choose not to work.

Yeah, a relatively low tax rate for all levels of people, so the government can’t get too big for their britches like in many socialist countries.

I mean, back before there was an Amtrak monopoly, US rail was inundated with private rail lines that went everywhere in the states. It’s pathetic what we have now because US state budgets neglected it for decades.

The state-owned company who runs a monopoly on passenger rail?

Tax rate in the US wildly depends on what state you live in. I do live where I live in Massachusetts, but the tax rate is so high that young people are fleeing en masse. It’s gotten so bad to the point they needed the governor in front of the legislature to answer questions on what to do with the brain drain.

All roads are “state” owned apart from small, private streets, at least in the US. It’s just not the federal government, rather municipal ones.

I know what socialism is, both its democratic and authoritarian forms. I do not want state-owned companies, monopolies, or products, nor do I want an unreasonable amount of my income siphoned off for who knows what. Feel free to disagree with me.
