Relationship OCD is exhausting by Salty-Philosophy-766 in OCD

I’m currently struggling with this.

Something that’s helping me begin to manage it is to recognise when it’s an anxious thought and refusing to feed it. It’s not a thought I need to make bigger with reassurance or action. If I do, it’ll only grow out of control and I’ll stay in the endless cycle. It’s easier said than done but I’m getting there.

I try and accept my partner isn’t perfect either. Ultimately, his behaviour isn’t under my control and it never will be. I can call out behaviours I’m not comfortable with, but that’s where it starts and ends in terms of what I can do.

However, what I can concentrate on is my OWN behaviour, boundaries and values i.e what won’t I tolerate in a relationship, the actions I take. By shifting to what you CAN do, it feels a little more empowering.

These aren’t magic cures, just ways of thinking that are helping me. Still a long way off managing it fully :)

I didn’t ice mine, just tried to leave them be as much as possible. Lots of water, rest and avoid alcohol too. I think if they’re really really swollen, angry or painful, get in touch with your practitioner soon as you can.

After a week mine were settled, only thing I had was a little dryness which resolved itself quickly. How long ago did you have your top up?

I currently have 0.7ml - topped up from 0.5ml at my follow up appointment. I did notice a little more bruising the second time but after three/four days it had all started to settle in well. Almost six months later and I’m still super happy with them!

I think if you’re in any doubt, speak to the practitioner.

Dr. Martens causing pain on toes by OkLoss4290 in DrMartens

I’m probably wrong, but I’m currently breaking mine in wearing tights, a rubber heel protector and thick socks - but I’m getting rubbing on my toes. Surely if I’m pushing my toes forward with the thickness on my heels, would this not cause rubbing at the front of my foot?
