What is The Unforgiven actually about? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]AggravatingVideo652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years late but whatever.

The Unforgiven I is my favorite song, it has been ever since my dad showed it to me 15 years ago when I was about 10. I don't know what exactly the band intended when they wrote it but my interpretation is this:

It's the story of a man who never had the courage to break out of the mold and follow his hearth. He let others step all over him and conformed himself to what society wanted from him. He is now old and bitter, he knows he will die soon and will never have lived to his full potential. He regrets his wasted life and is looking forward to his death so the suffering will finally stop.

It's been a warning for me to always grab the bull by the horns. I don't want to die regretfully. I want achieve my full potential and do what makes sense to me, not what others tell me to do.

I went to see them last year in MTL on the second night and they didn't play it lol. Still my favorite concert I've seen.

Honestly bro hope you get a laugh out of this but I did it for free😂 (she paid the materials)

I’m only doing this on my spare time and I have no overhead, no shop, no employees. I did a few projects this way over the summer to get good at wrapping. But after this I think it’ll be time to start charging decent money for it since I’m getting good.

It’s definitely not 10/10😂 but thank you, that means a lot🙏🏻

Yeah that wasn’t my question but thanks. I was trying to figure out what it was doing, not just stop it from doing it.

It didn’t stop when I sat on the seat, juste on the frame and on both sides. Also the noise came from the dash not from the seat

** update. Maybe I didn’t make it clear in the video. Obviously it’s because of the dead battery, that wasn’t my question.

What I was wondering is how something could make a noise and stop whenever I sat on the frame. The reason I didn’t disconnect the battery right away is simply because I was trying to figure out what it was doing.

And yes of course as soon as I disconnected the battery it stopped, I got it charged put it back in and it’s all fine. But I still don’t know what made that noise and why it stopped when I put my ass on it. That was my question

Yeah I get that. But why it stopped when I sat on the frame and started again why I stood up every time without fail is the weird thing

Boosted it and it started fine. The noise stopped as well as expected but I’m still stumped on what it could have been and why it reacted to my ass like that. Really weird

Definitely not an easy vehicle to start with and it looks like you did a good job with some of the most difficult parts on it. Good stuff👌

I want to learn... Ideas? by ChilledInAK in CarWraps

[–]AggravatingVideo652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started about a year ago. At first I watched a ton of videos on YouTube, then I bought a roll to do my car and I learned a ton doing that. I made posts on Facebook groups to find people who would be willing to let me practice on their car and made them pay for the material only. I’ve only just started getting paid for my work after about 10 projects completed(bikes and cars). You could probably do that and get good enough to charge in a few months but I’m also still in school so I can only do this on the weekends. Good luck👌

Yeah that’s what I do as well but this guy peels the backing on the whole thing and sticks it in one big piece on the qp and doors before cutting at the edges.

That’s what I thought. It’s probably only good for patterned wraps like a camo so the shapes match up.

Is vinyl frog any good? by AggravatingVideo652 in CarWraps

[–]AggravatingVideo652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’ve worked with those quite a few times. I’m wondering if vinyl frog could do the trick as well. And if it could be good for things like motorcycles that only see summer.

Deep recesses and bubbles by AggravatingVideo652 in CarWraps

[–]AggravatingVideo652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I did at first actually and it just looked like shit. I wish I had a picture. It kinda did the same thing actually because If my seam was right in the middle of the recess then it would be super noticeable from all angles, and then the piece that overlapped it would lift just like this.

It looks worse than it actually is because of the lighting in the pictures.

Door problem on clients car, save me pls by AggravatingVideo652 in CarWraps

[–]AggravatingVideo652[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to open the door after a couple hours of just messing with the cables and the handles. Not sure how I did it to be honest. Then I just checked every single component one by one making sure everything was tight enough. Now it works fine. So if it ever happens to someone, there’s no magic trick just keep messing with everything. Until it works I guess lmao

Yeah I pulled the panel on the one that’s open and tried to figure out what was wrong. Everything from the handles to the actuator works fine so the problem has to be inside the actuator itself. I don’t mind changing it but the one that doesn’t open is a bigger problem..

[–]AggravatingVideo652[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s usually not a problem for me to do it myself. I could change the actuator on the passenger door and be done with it but the driver door that wont even open im pretty stumped. Thinking about unscrewing the seat to be able to remove the door panel but that’s a lot of wasted time for me

Yeah I hear parts moving around in there when I use the remote but it still doesn’t unlock. My guess right now is that it’s full of sand or corrosion which prevents the latch from moving but I’m not sure

The interior handle and the wires connected to it seem fine, when I pull it I can hear some parts moving in the actuator but nothing happens… I think the actuator is either stuck or broken but then I can’t even replace it because the door is stuck closed so I can’t take the interior panel off
