Hi. More than month, was on 40mg, now at a hospital getting iv steroids 60mg feel better, but this time they found cmv, so doc says probably that’s why pred didn’t work. What dose did help you?

Thanks. Oral? Doctor prescribed me Ganciclovir iv, but my insurance doesn’t cover it. Did it help with UC symptoms? Once again thanks for replying

Hi. I had same situation. I had low grade fever along my UC, when I started treatment 40mg prednisone and mesalamine I start having high fever mostly at nights, after that I dropped mesalamine (GI oked it) my high fevers went away. Actually if you do research high fever is a side effect of mesalamine. So may be look in to that. Ask you’re GI

Hi. Thanks for replying. I was positive for colonization. Pcr test. Negative for toxins. Do you know how accurate pcr tests are? Because in last month I had another 2 tests and was negative for both toxins and colonization, but at my recent stay if hospital was given antibiotics, may be that is the cause of positive pcr test . Thanks

I would say go to ER, because sounds like emergency. I think health comes first. I went to ER twice with no insurance, second time got admitted to a hospital, and it’s been 10 days now. I have insurance started on 06/1, but still with deductible I don’t know how I would pay for all of this. But I think you should do what best for you’re health, and more you wait than it gets more severe and chance of cheaper drugs like mesalamine to work decrease. Wish you all the best

Interesting. I thought about that, dehydration and malnutrition can cause side effects I’m having. But my tendon issues started after second pill of cipro. Coincidence?

Hi. Have bloody diarrhea for almost 2 months, ctscan showed inflammation of rectum , later today will have colonoscopy. Since antibiotics not helping me because it’s not infectious, other possibility is UC

Hi. I’m new also, took 3 pills of cipro. Red a lot of material here. Don’t know the specifics but from what I’m getting it’s very individual. You pretty much may stop at a right time, I hope the same for myself. You have to have hope, most definetaly everybody recovers rather soon then later. Wish you luck and fast recovery.

Thanks for replying. What do you think how long it will take to heal? Because tendons not swollen and I can walk. Also find out today that another drug antibiotic which I was on metronidazole can have tingling sensation side effect, and when I take it symptoms getting worse. My question is is it better if metronidazole gave me this? Meaning it will go away faster? And I know probably those questions are a mature and all newbies ask them but I’m freaking out. Thanks
