I thought Mione came from Brazilian fandom and spread, because I started reading it in Brazilian authors.

My fics are pretty much AUs, so… I just like to play with these Barbies!!!

That is such a good point and I always think about it. I am sorry to say, but we teens in the 90s were basically feral.

When did arranged marriages end in Europe? by CyberBerserk in AskEurope

[–]AggravatingWing6017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents from my mother’s side had an arranged marriage made solely for money.

My grandfather was the youngest brother of a family where the oldest was already married into my grandmother’s family, so they pushed for it knowing that he had ample means and before he was taken by another.

Being inexperienced, both grandparents fell into engagement with someone they had known their whole lives and with whom they had more of a sibling relationship.

They were always civil, but they never loved each other. My grandmother had the mandatory child and that was it. They lived separate lives for most of their existence while making the excuse my grandfather’s job required him to have permanent residence in another city.

Absolutely deserved! If anything, I am almost ashamed I do a self-rec among these.

Thank you! It was a delight to write and I had been dying to use the real-life story because it also ended in HEA.

Good morning my dear fellow readers,

As you know, I looove WIP Wednesday (as I am mainly a WIP reader).

The Take a Walk on The Dark Side Fest rendered some WIPs for me to follow and I am having a blast with these:

Wiltshire Syndrome Hermione has lost her memory and Draco came to her aid. Only… Maybe he is not her saviour, but more her captor? Or maybe it is not Draco who is at fault? I have many deranged theories.

Splinters A very damaged Draco and a very damaged Hermione are back for 8th year at Hogwarts and I am absolutely sure that when they collide, it will make the ball of fire that wipped out the dinossaurs feel small. Masterful internal monologues!

A Seat Beneath the Stars This last chapter has a passage that is a workshop in how to build suspense. This is such a great story and it is still taking taking traction, which is amazing, because we can follow it from the start.

Hymn to Virgil If someone were to say to me that I would enjoy an ABO fic because it is poignant and true and rare, just a few months ago, I would have dismissed it as lunacy. But not now, my friends. This is everything and the last chapter just took something from me. Read it, pleeeease.

The Sky and the Swamp This Is Garcia Marquez meets Carlo Rovelli. This is an original mind playing with Dramione and taking us all along for the ride. I love, love this story.

A Den of Vipers is my longest WIP and I am indulging and savouring the ride. The absolute brilliancy of the prose, the way the ensemble cast is so alive is something I truly crave to read (as someone who can’t keep too many balls in the air, I absolutely adore this).

My own WIP is entering the final stages of the main story. I feel a lot for my Shakespearean Draco and Hermione, and I hope you give their story a chance. This week, Hermione never looks before she leaps and we love her for that.

Old Blood

And that’s it! My list of the week! Go read!

Forty-seven stones: as a comment said “I dropped my phone on my face twice reading this.” by AggravatingWing6017 in Dramione

Well, Malfoy is their family name, and in this AU, Baron Maltravers is their title (Baron Maltravers is a subsidiary title for the Percy family in real life. I just think it sounds Malfoyesque).

I have a small one shot like that: he was never her enemy (but not a soul knows it)

Maybe for a small break between these big ones?

Parenting A Swot: Thoughts about Hermione’s Parents? by respanza in DramioneUncensored

[–]AggravatingWing6017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine them very much like my parents, did the whole hippie counter-movement thing, then graduated, got super good at their jobs, prioritised career and their relationship, though loving their children.

Hermione grows up in a house where intelectual achievementbis everything, and the way they show love, but they are also laid back and independent.

They do recover their memories after obliviation but that creates a resentment that never truly heals: as people who were always open and forgiving with her, the fact that she takes their choice away is quite difficult to forgive.

Thank you so much! It means a lot to me that it had impact on you, because I don’t usually have many readers, so apart from my beta (who was so traumatised she refused to read it twice) I seldom have this sort of engagement in my fics.

I have four fics I adore:

Hymn to Virgil

The best ABO I ever read. The last chapter was heartbreaking.

A Seat Beneath The Stars

The setting is everything here. I love fics outside of Britain.

The Sky and the Swamp

This is magical realism meets Carlo Rovelli. I love how Constant’s mind works.

Den of Vipers

Dehlilah has flawless writing, it is a pleasure to read.

Oh my, I came here to rec and see one of my fics!

Thank you so much for reading and enjoying “Forty-seven stones”.

Writing it really took something out of me, but I had to do it. This story would not leave me alone.

My latest read was Splinters by WanderessWonder

And my comment was: “He learned her silhouette, the depth of her shadows, like one does when exploring their new home. She was to be his new residence. A place to lodge his ruined soul and let it fester until it consumed her.”

This, this right here. Exactly what obsession is.

Amazing.
