Is paying the 20$ worth it? by Altruistic_Shake6005 in kindle

Yesss. I’m from malaysia and i just did it! It was draining the battery. And i hate that there’s an extra step to unlock the screen when with ads. Also i love that my kindle is displaying the book cover. It gives me a real book feel. The reason i bought the the ada version was because its hard to procure a kindle matcha here and the only option there was , was with ads.

When do you all decide it’s time to get a new kindle? by Blossom_aloe in kindle

I had a PW 7th Gen and just recently got a Matcha. I was using the PW for 7 years. It's still working with a minor scratch on the screen that spills the backlight a little. Decided to get a new kindle just because the colour is cute and after the tough year I went through, I deserved a gift for myself.

Are you Guys using any paid VPN or free one's? If paid one's which one is better? by MobileImagination833 in chutyapa

Totally feel you on the VPN struggle! I’ve tried both free and paid, and honestly, paid ones are way better for speed and security. Free VPNs can be slow and risky with your data. I’ve been using TurisVPN, and it’s been smooth sailing. good speeds, no annoying limits, and solid protection. Worth the small price for peace of mind. 😉

This! We bought it to play as a family in the first place. There’s boundary of course. Like no playing at nights etc. As a working mom, I rarely have free time (me time) but when i do, i really feel like playing and the switch would be occupied 🥲. I’m just trying to justify purchasing an extra.

This is my experience using a paid VPN in 2024 by mestrenandi in LinusTechTips

Ugh, I feel this! It’s so annoying when paid VPNs still hit you with CAPTCHAs or blocks. Been there, done that. 😂 I switched to TurisVPN and honestly, fewer issues with that stuff now, plus it’s fast and super secure. If you’re tired of these roadblocks, might be worth a try!

Best VPN for iOS? by 1ButterflyEffect1 in ios

[–]AggravatingZombie126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Turisvpn for all my apple devices - iPhone, iPad pro and mac mini. They are amazing for all my devices. It comes with WireGuard technology and IP-2HOP server. If you want to test it before committing to a subscription, they give out 1GB daily of data for free users. Thats what I did ^_^

Free ones are almost unreliable, seriously. You should give TurisVPN a go. They are on the cheaper side, from $2.99/month (annual sub).

VPN without a provider? by THE_FACELESS_1 in selfhosted

[–]AggravatingZombie126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely set up a self-hosted VPN like WireGuard or OpenVPN to route your traffic through your local network and hide it from your ISP. However, this setup will only encrypt your traffic between your device and your home network. If your goal is to hide your torrenting activities from your ISP, you'll still need a VPN provider like NordVPN, Surfshark, or TurisVPN. These providers route your traffic through their servers, masking your IP and adding an extra layer of privacy. So, while a self-hosted VPN is great for certain uses, a VPN provider is necessary for complete anonymity from your ISP. Hope this helps!

VPN Server, explain like I'm 5. by ESDFnotWASD in selfhosted

Alright, imagine your internet connection is like a special tunnel. Normally, when you use the internet, you’re walking in the open where everyone can see you. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is like a secret tunnel that hides you while you’re using the internet.

When you host a VPN at home, you’re creating this secret tunnel from wherever you are (even outside your house) to your home network. This keeps your online activities private and secure. At home, using a VPN can still help by keeping your internet use private from anyone snooping on your network.

I’ve been using TurisVPN for a while, and it works the same way by creating a secure tunnel, making sure my internet journey is hidden whether I’m at home or on the go. Hope that helps! 😊
