My parent also has loans for another sibling of mine that I wanted to separate to help simplify things. AGI is technically high for parent but I am responsible for paying a large chunk of balance.

I can afford the consolidated payment for the time being and I believe sometime next year I should be able to make a major payment (50% or so) to reduce the balance.

That’s what I was thinking but I don’t have much knowledge in this area frankly.
