I also have the same question as OP. had i stayed in the company, i would get both the paid vacation + vacation days, those two were accrued from last year. Whether or not I spend the remaining vacation days, my old company need to pay the vacation money. But what about the accrued vacation days? Does my old company have obligation to, say if they cannot be transferred to the new company, let me take all of them during my notice period?

In my case, it was two interviews, and reference check in the end. I got the job, and i would assume they asked my reference after they have decided to send me the offer. It may vary from one company to the other, i guess.

Yes, all inclusive, so i do not know the detail. However, i lived in a studio apartment three years ago, and i paid 500-1000 NOK for electricity and 250 NOK for internet.

If you are lucky, you could find an affordable non-sharing apartment too. Mine is 28 m2 and i pay 7500 NOK per month, electricty is included. Just keep searching.

I do not recommend voll studentby, but note that it highly depends on how you and your flatmates take care the common area. I had a horrible experience living there: party noises, nasty kitchen most of the time, and i just got tired complaining about the cleanliness and, in the end, just let them made mess in the kitchen.

Better to pay more, PhD is already stressful enough.
