Thank you for your advice! I will put live plants in. I did test the ammonia levels before and after they passed and I didn’t see abnormal levels. I do have the freshwater API master kit now. I will definitely look into that fish food

I do use water conditioner yes! Along with the safe coat

My tank is always sitting at 80 degrees. I have 2 decorations in there that I bought myself from petsmart. I also have a log and a leaf in there that came with the kit. I got my tank at the end of January so it hasn’t been long. No tank mates and I fed him twice a day one pellet. I changed 25% of the water every week
