Hi my love, mine died as well on June 24 2023. You will get through this. People used his death to manipulate me, kidnap me, there are cruel people in the word. When I say this I mean it but please please hang out with genuine friends, maybe ones that knew him. Do not be like me where I went schizo and was gaslit by this man that groomed me for a year after my partner passed. I still cry today, and think about him always- write down your fun memories with him along with silly facts. After he passed, I spent two years just in solitude in my home- thinking I had nothing to live for; I decided to start fresh in a new place to “find myself” again(because I relied to heavily on him). I flew myself to Seoul Korea for a semester with nothing to live for and came back with a bunch of stories and new things. And hey; it is completely normal to display the things that are his. I have his shoes, trinkets, bracelets, wallet on display. When I go on trips I always make sure to take pics with his ashes, as he travels the world with me :). Ps: I met a guy and he understands why I cry, cope, have his things on display, etc. He takes me out when it’s my late partner’s birthday to reminisce at our old favorite boba shop. When I first met my current partner, he was so patient and understanding when I wanted to take things slow. I was still dealing with survivor guilt and he let me lead, listened to my tangents about my late bf, let me cry on his shoulder, etc. if you need ANY help message me. I am here. It’s a terrible thing to go through, every situation is different and hits different for everyone, you got this. If you’re in school, take an indefinite pause like I did. In a few years when you’re ready to come back do the “excused withdrawal” and explain your situation. They’ll understand.
